About Joe
Hi, I'm Joe, a passionate music enthusiast who has been immersed in folk music since childhood. I've spent many years being an active member of folk clubs and societies across Suffolk, Cambridge, Kent, and London, where I've deeply engaged with England's rich folk culture. My journey in music began with playing guitar, focusing on blues and country styles, before discovering my true passion for the banjo.
My love for American folk music and its roots has driven me to dedicate countless hours to mastering the clawhammer banjo style. In addition to the banjo, I also play the fiddle and harmonica, and I am more than happy to teach all four instruments.
I live in Suffolk, where the natural beauty of the countryside deeply influences my music. When I'm not making music, you can find me walking, birdwatching, or woodworking. I find a connection between nature and music; both have a rhythm and harmony that inspire my teaching and playing. This connection enriches my approach to music, allowing me to offer comprehensive and engaging lessons that resonate.
