About Kate
- What kind of experience do you have?
As a teacher I run my own private music tuition company, and also teaching for music centers such as North Wales Music tuition, and Art forms Leeds. This has allowed me to gain a great deal of experience working with students of all ages and abilities. As a performer I freelance Professionally, playing with small ensembles, orchestras, or chamber groups. I have also recorded an album of film and TV music as part of the wind section.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I studied for a Masters Degree in Flute performance, and trained with the principal flute player of the Orchestra of Opera North.
I studied Harp throughout Wales travelling to different teachers and have taken part in master classes with performers including Catrin Finch.
I studied Piano until the age of 18, and have attended master classes with Nico De Villers and Jakob Fichert.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
Most of my students are currently studying for practical exams on their instruments and making fantastic progress! A few do play purely for pleasure and enjoyment and are learning pieces and songs to share with family and friends! I am more than willing to teach pupils who are interested in taking exams or those who want to play for enjoyment!

Hello and a warm welcome to my page. I am an experienced teacher of the Flute, Piano, Harp and Music Theory. I teach students of all ages and abilities throughout the Yorkshire area.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the flute, Piano, harp and music theory (including GCSE and A level music) .I teach all of these subjects from beginner to diploma standard, to students of all ages.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
In july 2014 I gained a Masters degree in Music from Leeds college of music, where i studied for my undergraduated degree ( BA hons) also.
- How much do you charge?
Tuition Rates are as follows;
Half an hour- £15.00
45 mins- £20.00
1 hour- £25.00
20 minute lessons are also available for children under 7 years.
- Where do you teach?
I mainly teach around leeds however I can also travel to a students home, I travel to; harrogate, york and the surrounding areas, please get in touch for more details.
- When are you available?
I have availability throughout the week, please get in touch to find out more.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages, and all abilities, from beginner to diploma standard.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
If students wish to take exams, I am very happy to enter them for ABRSM, London college of Music, or Trinity board exams, if a pupil wishes to take a different board that is also no problem!
