My varied musical worklife has enabled me to understand that learning and playing music can come in many different guises. I strive therefore, to give space to my teaching so that it should obviously respond to everyone's individuality.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach classical clarinet, flute and saxophone as well as folk influenced woodwind instruments. Primarily klezmer clarinet, irish whistle or flute and bulgarian kaval.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a first class Masters in Clarinet performance at the Birmingham Conservatoire.
- How much do you charge?
My standard lesson rate is £27, however I am also happy to do shorter lessons at £17 for 30 or £20 for 40 minutes.
- Where do you teach?
I can teach at home in Bearwood or am happy to come to students' houses in Smethwick, Harborne, Birmingham City Centre, Moseley, Kings Heath, Balsall Heath.
- When are you available?
I have a flexible working week but generally day times and up until 7pm may be free.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am happy to teach any age or level.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I am happy to use Skype as a tool for tutoring online and have had successful results. I also take my own lessons in Bulgarian music over Skype weekly!
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching music in Birmingham for the last eight years as part of the Birmingham Music Service, as a guest lecturer in world music at the Birmingham Conservatoire, at a local private school and as a private tutor. I have also worked in community music settings with vulnerable adults and young people in and around Birmingham.

I have an up-to-date DBS.
