About Dan
Working as a teacher for the Talking Together project I had to evelop lesson plans and materials to teach English to new learners of the language. Leadi ng classes in English for groups of 12 Chinese students at elementary level, I identified learning issues and developed ways to enhance their learning experience. At the end of the semester, I wrote reports on each student giving an analysis of their learning progress.

Ever since I was a child, I had an unusual passion amongst my peers for English language and culture. This fervor flowed more vigorously when I discovered English literature. Being of a melancholic nature, I could not overlook profound themes, such as the beauty of nature, innocence, the reaching of the metaphysical self and others while reading Wordsworth’s and Coleridge’s poems.
During my first year of my degree level study, an interest in teaching awoke in me. The person responsible for that was a Spanish professor who provided me with guidance for three years. He taught me notions including patience, simplicity and efficiency in the didactic process that were useful to me when I became a tutor and an English teacher participating in the Talking Together project. His advice made me conscious of how the process of learning works and what factors must be taken into account when dealing with a specific social group (taking age, learning preferences and styles, memory types and the different ways that people have of processing information into account).
In the final year of my degree, I decided that I want to continue in education. Although I am extremely attached to English literature, I believe that the most effective way for me to contribute to society is by educating
