About Zoe
Hi there, I'm Zoe - a knitting teacher, production machinist & fashion designer in Melbourne.
I'm passionate about slow, ethical fashion, and the importance of passing on these valuable skills to others.
Since graduating from my Honours degree in Fashion Design at RMIT, I have worked within the local fashion industry in small-batch garment production, including RTW and bridal.
I have been knitting since childhood, and now run a knitwear label of my own, alongside the teaching I love so much.
There is something magical about starting with an idea, and learning the skills to make it a reality. This is what first drew me to fashion design, and I love helping others feel the same magic!

My teaching style is relaxed and patient. Learning a new skill and building confidence should be fun. I prefer to start with a project in mind, so that you can leave with new skills and a finished outcome. Any project can be adapted to your unique goals and learning style!
Lessons are 1-2 hours long depending on the complexity of your project. These can be online or in person (a public space, your home, or in my Brunswick design studio with machines, cutting table etc).
I have been teaching both knitting and sewing in person for almost 10 years alongside my own work in the fashion industry, plus many other fun skills like painting, drawing & natural dyeing. I am experienced in teaching ages 10-70.
I can help with school or university projects, and any personal sewing/knitting project you have in mind, from knitting your first scarf to designing and making a wedding dress!
Qualifications: BA (Hons, 1st class) Fashion Design, RMIT
Circular Fashion Design Certification - Redress Program
Current Working with Children's Check
