About Capres

Hello! I'm an experienced and passionate tutor specialising in social sciences. With a degree in Anthropology and Sociology from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a master's in human rights, I bring a deep understanding of social sciences to my teaching. Currently, I'm pursuing a second master's in Education Policies for Global Development (GLOBED) through the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Masters Programme, supported by the SAS Award from the Leverhulme Trust UK. This summer, I have been working as an intern at UNESCO Paris, within the education sector.

Over the past five years, I've honed my teaching skills by working with a diverse range of students, both in English as a second language and in my specialist subjects. This has equipped me with techniques to make complex ideas accessible and engaging. My lessons are designed to be creative, interactive, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.

I am committed to helping students build confidence in their abilities and achieve their academic goals. My approach is always professional, patient, and attentive, with a focus on creating a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore new ideas and think critically. I look forward to helping you succeed in your studies and reach your full potential!

My teaching approach is student-centred, focusing on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment tailored to each student's unique needs. I begin each lesson by setting clear objectives, ensuring that we have a specific focus for the session. This helps students understand what we aim to achieve and keeps the learning process on track.

I use a variety of resources and materials, including articles, case studies, visual aids, and interactive activities, to explore key concepts in the social sciences. My goal is to make lessons creative and engaging, helping students to form their own ideas and opinions while understanding the theoretical foundations. Additionally, I incorporate a short revision session at the end of each lesson to reinforce what we've covered. If agreed upon, I assign homework to help consolidate the learning and prepare for the next session.

A typical lesson lasts between 60 to 90 minutes. This allows ample time to cover the material in-depth while also providing space for discussion, questions, and review. I find that this duration strikes the right balance between maintaining focus and allowing for comprehensive learning.

I hold a degree in Anthropology and Sociology from Goldsmiths, University of London, where I conducted research on migration paths in higher education. I also have a master's degree in Human Rights and am currently pursuing a second master's in Education Policies for Global Development (GLOBED) through the Erasmus Mundus Masters Programme. Additionally, I am a recipient of the prestigious SAS Award from the Leverhulme Trust UK.

My lessons are designed for students at various levels, including high school, college, and university. I work with learners aged 16 and above who are interested in deepening their understanding of sociology, anthropology, or related fields. Whether you're preparing for exams, working on a research project, or simply looking to enhance your knowledge, I tailor my lessons to meet your specific needs and academic goals.
