About Sophie

Every child is gifted, they just unwrap their packaging at different times'- Every child has the ability to succeed and achieve, let me help your child to find their path to doing so.

I have in depth knowledge of the current national curriculum and methods used to apply it. I currently teach in a local primary school on a part time basis, given that I have a young child myself. Working on this basis at school means I am able to share my knowledge and support children with regards to tutoring. My degree included a 1st class graded dissertation, and this was achieved in 2012. My studies allowed me to specialise in working with children who have special educational needs and I have actively used this expertise in my current role. I work with children on a daily basis with autism, aspergers, dyslexia amongst other needs within a mainstream setting. I also run Speech and Language therapy, and daily counselling sessions with children experiencing social or emotional difficultly. This includes children with anxiety and difficult personal situations. Along with this I also offer SATS maths preparation sessions within the school. I believe I have a well rounded level of expertise, and current knowedge of the school system and curriculum which will allow me to provide excellent tutoring services.

Last year I supported two children through their entrance exams, both of which passed and entered their school of choice. I am currently prepping another child for their entrance exams in September. If you are looking for support with this, I can definitely help.

I have a high level of experience working with children who are struggling within school, across KS1 and KS2, and will work tirelessly with you and your child to find methods that work for them to ensure they understand and can retain methods that will help them reach their true potential.

I believe that every child CAN. We're all different, and that applies to our style of learning too. If your child is struggling, they just haven't found a method that works for them yet. We can find that together!
