About Nicola
I am a soft gentle teacher who builds happy relationships with the students. I am inspired by students who are keen to learn and pass, especially those who find maths difficult. I have been a maths teacher now for over 5 years, and a HLTA maths teacher for 3 years prior to this. I am expert in foundation and working with SEN students, so if you are looking to gain that grade 4 or 5 via 1st time GCSE or resit I am 100% dedicated to support you. My students at my school do well following intervention lessons and many of my students pass the grade 4 and move on to further education or apprenticeships. Here to help with GCSE and Functional Skills. I also have a history of my students who I tutor having all gone to get a grade 4 or pass in functional skills level 2.

Online tutoring only I have a lot of patience for students who struggle with maths. I will always try to get to know the student to support their progression, not all students learn the same way. I have supported numerous students who find maths hard, going from a grade 1 to grade 4.

Nicola provided excellent support to my daughter with her GCSE Maths, a subject she had struggled to pass previously. My daughter has additional needs, and Nicola took the time to understand how she learns best and found ways to explain things clearly, simply and at a pace that worked for her.
Her approach was very patient, encouraging and completely tailored to my daughter’s individual needs. She communicated with her extremely well and helped build both her understanding and confidence in maths.
We were absolutely delighted when my daughter passed her GCSE Maths. It was a huge achievement for her, and Nicola’s support played a very important part in helping her get there.
We are incredibly grateful for everything Nicola did and would happily recommend her to any parent looking for a kind, patient and knowledgeable tutor, particularly for a young person who may need a more individualised approach.View more recommendations
