About Luke
I have tutored English, Japanese and Spanish throughout my academic career and in various countries. At Akita International University, I volunteered as a one-on-one tutor of English and Spanish to Japanese students, whose abilities ranged from complete beginner to advanced. My tutees told me that through my regular sessions they grew much more confident speaking their new language, and many went on to take and pass the IELTS and TOEIC tests. I also undertook an internship at Education First Tokyo, where I designed and led cultural activities for foreign students of Japanese to apply their language skills in the real world.
