About Melanie
I teach 2 sections of 4th grade Latin and 2 sections of Latin for 7th/8th grade students who are new to Latin entering our classical school. I offer a lot of help with English grammar as that can be a barrier to learning Latin. Latin is something I really enjoy and I love to inspire and encourage young people.

I have taught introductory through junior high student Latin out of college texts such as Wheelock’s and Henle. I have experience teaching 3-4 students at a time therefore giving in-depth personal assistance and encountering some of the most common struggles students have with Latin and addressing those in a variety of ways. I strive to break down complicated concepts to where they are manageable for young students and give them a prescribed course of action and practice to set about completing exercises, translating and memorizing declensions and conjugations. I’ve personally been studying Latin for almost 10 years and have been formally teaching junior high for about 2 years and homeschooling my own children years before that. Whether you want an introductory course or if you have an older student who is struggling with a certain concept I would be happy to help.
