About Manon
I’m Manon, a native French speaker who has lived and studied in the UK for many years. Having experienced life in both cultures, I understand the challenges English speakers face when learning French, and how to overcome them with confidence. I’ve been tutoring for several years and love helping students at all levels. I enjoy creating lessons that are warm, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals for real progress: whether that’s holding a conversation with ease, improving grades, or feeling at home in France.

Bonjour ! I’m Manon, a passionate French tutor dedicated to helping you gain confidence and fluency whether you’re just starting out or aiming to perfect your accent. I focus on real communication through conversation and practical understanding. Each lesson blends conversation, grammar, and cultural insight so you can think in French rather than just memorise rules. I adapt my teaching style to your goals that can range from mastering travel phrases to preparing for exams or refining advanced writing and speaking skills. Teaching style & techniques: - Interactive, student-focused lessons - Real-life scenarios, roleplay, and storytelling to make learning natural - Clear explanations and plenty of encouragement Optional homework and resources tailored to your level Lesson structure: Sessions usually last 60 minutes, but can be adjusted for your schedule or focus areas. Who it’s for: I teach beginners to advanced learners, having experience with children, teenagers and adults, who want to feel comfortable speaking and understanding French whether for school, work, travel, or pure enjoyment. Experience: I have extensive experience helping students of all backgrounds progress quickly and enjoy the process. My lessons are friendly, structured, and designed to make you love learning French.

Manon helped me take the TOEFL, she is a great tutor. She was so patient with me, I really have come a long way. She was very nice and motivational and I coudn’t recommend her enough !
Manon and I met during our masters degree at Edinburgh University and I have never met anyone as kind, patient and encouraging. She knows the importance of being on time and being prepared. She has never made me feel bad or stupid for asking questions and has always made time to help. So I feel confident that any questions you have in your tutoring sessions with her will be met with respect, and she will do her best to answer them. All of these things are something that I believe make her a great tutor.
Manon is one of the best people I could think to recommend for tutoring. Not only is she incredibly smart so she knows what she’s on about, but she does it so clearly and patiently. She’s never made me feel like I’ve asked a stupid question, even when I definitely have, or when I have her to explain a concept for the 100th time.
