Hello! I’m Giselle, a dedicated and approachable tutor with a passion for helping students thrive academically and personally. I recently completed my Honors Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society with magna cum laude distinction, and I will be starting law school in September. As a future law student with an Honours BA in Law and Society, my approach to tutoring is grounded in clarity, structure, and encouragement. I focus on building students’ confidence by simplifying complex concepts and tailoring my lessons to suit individual learning styles. Whether working on English, essay writing, social sciences, or study skills, I emphasize critical thinking and organization to help students improve both their understanding and their academic results.
A typical lesson begins with a brief check-in and review of prior material, followed by a focused session on the student’s current goals—whether that’s writing a strong thesis, preparing for an exam, or improving reading comprehension. I integrate active learning techniques such as discussion, outlining strategies, and guided writing practice. I also provide students with helpful templates, study schedules, or revision tools to encourage independent learning beyond the lesson.
What sets me apart is my ability to relate to students and make learning feel approachable, not overwhelming. With experience supervising workshops for children and mentoring peers in university, I adapt my tone and techniques based on each student’s age, academic level, and confidence.
