About Alexandra
I am an associate family law attorney who also subbed in elementary schools for fun. My passion is teaching. The feeling I get when I see "the lightbulb go off" is so rewarding. I'm an excellent reader, writer, and researcher and believe reading comphrension is the fundamental skill to success in any subject! I have a B.S. in Criminology and Psychology. I use my psychology background to learn and understand how children learn and tailor my tutoring style to fit their specific needs.

I observe the student to identify where he/she is struggling and what his/her strengths are. I take into acount whether they are an auditory, visual, kinesthetic, or reading/writing learner and adapt my methods accordingly. I use my psychological background to make learning fun and memorable. The associations that we make while learning (by evoking emotions, laughter, and using pneumonics) help us remember when recalling the information later.
