About Nick
I love music, dancing, movies, sports (especially association football/soccer), and getting out into nature and up mountain peaks. Hailing from America, I have also lived in Great Britain and the Dominican Republic, traveled to great cities and far out into the countryside of places like Kenya, and thrown myself into learning about other cultures and languages, including studying international affairs at university.
I chose to teach to inspire others on their language journey, work which I find both fulfilling and meaningful. Language is one of the most beautiful gifts we have as human beings. To be a part of another person's journey in English is a wonderful experience. I am a person that believes everyone needs moments in life where time slows down and everything else fades away. With that in mind, I have begun guiding adventure trips to get people into other cultures and up towering mountain peaks. Teaching is the foundation that allows me to pursue these other dreams.

Learning a language should feel like an adventure, not work or study. I will inspire you to explore and engage with the world, speaking about getting into nature, exploring other cultures, being moved by the storytelling of movies and music, all while our engaging, dynamic conversations steadily improve your proficiency and flexibility in English. My particular focus is on moving intermediate or advanced students to a higher level, though beginner students are welcome to reach out - I have taught many.
I have taught over 300 students of all different ages and backgrounds, from Japanese surgeons and Chinese actresses, to truck drivers and farmers. I have helped university students to prepare for IELTS and other English exams, adults of varying ages to prepare for job interviews and immigration, and even other English teachers to improve their teaching ability, all while giving them a greater joy in seizing experiences in the world.
I have experience learning other languages myself, having studied Spanish while living in the Dominican Republic. I am currently enjoying learning some Mandarin to better engage with my students in China, and Swedish for the joy of it.
