About Sarah
I have a TESOL certification, and have been teaching English as a Second Language online for a year and have taught over 25 different students. I have provided one on one tutoring in a variety of subjects for 8+ years.
I am no stranger to hard work, as I earned a degree in Biochemical Engineering from Queen's University in Canada. I worked for 4.5 years as an engineer, which was full of many challenges. As grateful as I am for that experience, my true passion is in teaching and mentoring others.
I have many years of experience working with children of all ages and personalities, as well as adults. Below are a few highlights of my experience:
- 8+ years of tutoring experience, primarily in English and Math (ages 10-17).
- 4 years of experience teaching the fundamentals of water filtration and environmental sustainability to students aged 10-11.
- 3 years of experience as a figure skating coach
- 3 years of experience as a soccer coach
- 2 years of experience as a cheerleading coach (ages 4 to 13)
While I studied engineering, I have always had a passion for languages. I have taken English courses at the University level, and I have received several awards over the years highlighting my skills in this area. Please see my mini-resume below for further details.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my large family, cooking tasty new meals, enjoying the outdoors, and travelling the world to explore new places and learn about different cultures! I look forward to meeting you, and I hope to see you in my classroom soon!
