You will understand how music works like never before, if playing songs is not enough for you, but you want to improvise or compose without problems, this is your place.
Hello! I'm Manolo Parra, multi-instrumentalist musician specialized in modern music and guitar/bass teacher for more than 10 years. I have been teaching more than 1000 lessons a year since 2021.
My teaching method is based on useful and functional knowledge that can be applied to live performances and to the recording of my own material:
- Functional harmony and composition (Interval Theory, Cadential Music, Greek Modes, etc.).
- Ear training, sound perception.
- Technique (Legato, tapping, sweep picking, fingerpicking, harmonics, etc.).
- Attitude and show (live tricks, handling of the sound equipment, etc.).
- Studio recording and error analysis (Equipment, technique to achieve precision in recordings, tempo, etc.).
- Analysis of musical genres (Pop, rock, metal, funk, jazz, bossa nova, etc.).
- Analysis of guitar approaches (soloist, rhythm, comping for singer-songwriters, band approaches, etc.).
- Analysis of mythical guitarists (B.B. King, Hendrix, Van Halen, Gary Moore, Jason Becker, Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde, Cory Wong, Charlie Parra, Luca Turilli, Juan Valdivia, Rick Graham, JJN, Gambale, etc.).
Experience:
- 15 years as guitarist.
- 12 years as musician on stage.
- 10 years as private guitar teacher and also in summer camp Rock Camp, specialized in live music.
- 6 albums recorded in professional studios with rocknroll, pop, indie and metal bands.
- Professional degree from 21st Century Music school (Madrid).
Payments would be made at the beginning of the month by PayPal or Revolut, other options can be seen.
The time availability is adjusted to each student, there are classes every day. Classes may be cancelled 24h in advance.
Logistics:
Classes are with professional audio and video quality. Preferably a computer with webcam is needed; if not, a cell phone. They are always given with guitar/bass in hand; in the syllabus there is theory aimed at understanding the instrument in a practical way.
It includes a Drive group through which we will communicate, content in images, videos and other useful documents for learning. We will do a personalized follow up of the given syllabus.
There are also unique Guitar Pro exercises.
