About Andy

I have been playing professionally for 35 years plus giving lessons for over 25yrs in Schools, private homes and Colleges in the East Midlands. I have been teaching at Oakham School for over 15yrs. I studied snare drum for 5 years with the Beeston & District Pipe Band and won the All England Pipe Band snare drumming competition when I was eighteen. I transferred my passion for drums to the drum set and played in Original bands being signed twice to Warner Bros WEA Records. I love to drum, have taught hundreds of students and love to see and hear them enjoying new grooves and techniques. My students have achieved passes from RSL and Trinity Syllabus grade 1 to grade 8 and gone on to play professionally and to teach. I am a professional Drummer and Tutor have played, toured and recorded original pop/rock soul funk and jazz music all over UK and Europe.

About the lesson

I will shape your lessons to suit you. I do not follow any one method or use one book. I use a combination of approaches to move you forward. Serious or Just for Fun, Feel that groove, play it well and feel great!
