Shihan Duval Hamilton has trained in Kyokushin karate for over 35 years, holding the rank of 5th Dan. As head of Dallas Kyokushin and leader of the Texas Kyokushin Renmei, he oversees instruction and organizational growth across the region, to connect local training to internationally recognized standards.

About the lesson

1. Real experience, not theory.
5th Dan, 35+ years in Kyokushin. What I teach has been tested in knockdown competition, not just passed down from a textbook.

2. Full-contact discipline builds real confidence.
Kyokushin's knockdown format means you learn to take a hit, control fear, and keep moving forward. That translates directly to confidence outside the dojo — at work, under pressure, anywhere.

3. Structure and lineage you can trust.
As head of Dallas Kyokushin and the Texas Kyokushin Renmei, meaning your rank and training connect to an internationally recognized standard, not a local-only system.

Kyokushin has finally arrived in the Big D. Suitable for both kids and adults, Kyokushin is a traditional Japanese Karate, which instills, discipline and respect. Kyokushin is great for kids facing bullying, and provides sparring and tournament fighting opportunities for those who choose to pursue that path. As a long time Kyokushin practitioner and black belt, I can vouch that Sensei Hamilton, is the real deal, old school and yet very patient with kids. There is literally no equivalent in the DFW Metroplex. If you are unsure, I urge you to take a trial lesson. I hope to see you in the Dojo.
