About Leila

Hi, I’m Leila — a top‑ranked Mandarin tutor and a graduate of a prestigious U.S. university. I teach children, teens, and adults with a clear, structured, and supportive approach that helps learners understand exactly what to do and how to improve.

Many students come to me feeling stuck with tones, unclear foundations, or low confidence. I understand these struggles, and I guide them step‑by‑step with patient explanations, targeted practice, and simple strategies they can use. I also use my spare time to stay in communication with students and parents, share feedback, and report each one’s progress so families always know how their learner is growing.

My goal is to help every student feel capable, supported, and proud of their progress. I’m passionate about helping learners release pressure, build confidence, and see that Chinese can be simple and manageable. Feel free to book a lesson — I’ll support you at your own pace. I look forward to meeting you in class.

About the lesson

My Lessons
I tailor every lesson to the learner’s age, level, and goals. My teaching is structured, clear, and progress‑focused, with a balance of guidance, practice, and immediate feedback. Below is a simple overview of how I support different learner groups.

Adult Learners & Professional Exams (ILR, OPI, HSK - All Levels)
→ Assess goals & current level
→ Fast‑track plan (narration, description, opinions, real‑world tasks)
→ Targeted exam drills (ILR/OPI prompts, timed speaking, structured feedback)
→ Pronunciation & tone correction
→ Clear, confident real‑world communication

Grade Improvement & School Exam Prep (Upper Elementary – High School)
→ Identify learning gaps
→ Strengthen core skills (vocabulary, reading, grammar, sentence structure)
→ Mock tests + study skills
→ Higher accuracy and better grades

Younger Children (Early Childhood – Lower Elementary)
Young Children (Ages 3–8)
→ Songs and stories
→ Simple sentences + visual support
→ Guided practice (vocabulary + pronunciation)
→ Strong early Mandarin foundation
