About Ed

I am a professional music producer, audio engineer and active DJ in a local collective. When I'm not in the studio, I'm playing gigs, selecting everything from organic funk and electro-disco to driving electronic tracks.

Because of my deep background in sound theory and live performance, I don't just teach you which buttons to press—I teach you how to hear the music like a producer and command a room like a seasoned performer. My teaching style is relaxed, highly practical, and completely tailored to the genres and styles you want to play.

About the lesson

The Fundamentals: Understanding beatmatching, phrasing, timing, and song structure.

The Mix: Mastering EQs, volume levels, and smooth transitions so your blends sound seamless and professional.

Track Selection: How to dig for incredible music (from funk and disco to deep house and electronic) and build a set list that keeps a dancefloor moving.

The Gear: Getting comfortable with your setup—whether you use a basic controller, CDJs, Rekordbox, Serato, or want to learn the basics of routing.

Sound & Setup: gain staging, system setups, and EQing for different venues so your music always sounds crisp and powerful.

Who it’s for: Complete beginners looking to buy their first controller, bedroom DJs wanting to sharpen their transitions, or musicians wanting to add DJing to their skillset.

Location: In-person lessons in London (I can come to you, or you can learn on my setup) or interactive online sessions.

What you need: Just a laptop and a basic controller, or simply an open mind and a love for music!

Perfect! Really good lesson with Ed. Has a strong music knowledge and was able to gage my skill level quickly. Left me with some really good things to practice to help me get out of my plateau. Hope to do it again! Thanks Ed.
