Starting 11+ preparation at age 9 allows a steady, pressure-free approach rather than last-minute cramming.

• Year 3 (age 7-8): A gentle introduction that strengthens reading comprehension, vocabulary, and basic arithmetic.
• Year 4 (age 8-9): Introduce exam content, verbal reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning systematically.
• Year 5 (age 9-10): Effective for confident learners who need focused refinement.

A gradual two-year approach often produces better results than intensive short-term cramming.

Private 11+ tutoring in Iver generally runs at about £15/h per session.

The final cost depends on a few key elements:

• The tutor's experience and qualifications (QTS status, exam board knowledge, success rate)
• How selective the schools you are aiming for
• Lesson delivery method (one-to-one, small group, online, or in-person)
• Lesson frequency and duration

Booking a block of lessons often brings the per-session cost down significantly.

Children sitting the 11 Plus are tested on English, Maths, and two types of reasoning skills.

• English: Tests understanding of texts, vocabulary, sentence structure, and written expression.
• Mathematics: Arithmetic, fractions, percentages, ratios, algebra basics, geometry, and word problems.
• Verbal Reasoning: Assesses vocabulary breadth and logical thinking with words.
• Non-Verbal Reasoning: Measures problem-solving ability independent of language skills.

Some areas use GL papers while others use CEM, so check which format your target schools require.
