My name is Anri. I've lived in Greece for 11 years and in Italy for 12 years. I've got a Master's degree in building engineering and I've been tutoring for almost a decade now. I know that it is difficult for a student to comprehend some subjects and that's why I never give for granted anything.

My approach on methodology depends on the student I am working with and their individual aims and objectives for the tuition. Some of my students just want to prepare for exams, so we do extensive work on past papers, revision and exam technique.
My style of coaching is pretty much hands-on ensuring that basic concepts are fully understood before doing plenty of practice using past papers and appropriate mark schemes. This is of course done taking into account of the students needs and focusing on the areas they may find challenging.

Understanding is always better than memorisation. True depth in understanding eliminates the need to remember facts/processes/tricks/examples as much, which makes an exam a whole lot less stressful! (I talk from experience!!!) My aim when tutoring is always to foster this depth in understanding and not simply to get a student through an exam on their capacity to retain information temporarily.

My teaching method is to first go through past papers to identify where the student’s weaknesses may be. This will then be followed up by going through example questions with the student and showing them the method before letting them have a go at a couple on their own.

I like to introduce a concept to the student, explain how and why this concept is important and demonstrate this by tackling a couple of example questions. The further context of this concept will also be looked at.
I can readily talk mathematics at university level - analysis, algebra, geometry, statistics you name it. I like to work with well-chosen examples and work them out in depth. I think it is important to reinterpret a piece of mathematics in ones own words and being able to apply the main ideas to a bunch of good examples. I think I can provide guidance in doing so.
