I have recently retired from teaching after 37 years as a highly motivated teaching professional addressing pupil’s needs and development. I remain motivated by the belief that all children can be successful learners and am enthusiastic with an ability to make learning exciting and enjoyable.
After an initial assessment, I tell the student to follow my reading program which focusses on understanding, analysis and evaluation. When appropriate I concentrate on exam technique for close reading and for the literature exam. I offer advice on Folio prepartion.
I will teach anybody who is willing to listen and follow my advice on how to pass National 4, 5 and Higher English. I will have a relaxed, honest and open mined approach to teaching. I have Dyspraxia myself and understand studying can be difficult for those of with Additional Support Needs and will not have any issues with taking on students with similar needs.
I feel I am a calm person and willing to take the extra time to ensure that my students have fully been able to grasp a concept.
I teach by laying the groundwork for my students in their field of choice. I have in-depth strategies that will help my students achieve the grades they are looking for. I encourage thinking skills above all and really hope to engage students with their subject material.
I like to be very methodical in my teaching method, and to focus on clear working and thought processes. I also use visuals and diagrams to motivate the use and application of skills. I like a mixture of exam techniques as well as learning for its own sake.
My teaching methodology is to reworks the basics if needed, then with my students we correct errors in oral and written thanks to exercices, audio documents and visual clues but not only. It depends on the student, but sometimes he or she learns better trough differents methods as musics, books, arts, films even with theater. I just have to know what the student like the most.
I'm a second year university student and am able to give lessons to students up to the end of high school. I believe it is impossible to have a one-size-fits-all approach to learning and so lessons can be tailored to suit the needs and learning style of the individual. Lessons will focus on areas of difficulty to ensure full comprehension of the subject.
Above mentioned I would prefer to teach National 5 level students as the course as a whole is easier to teach, in my opinion. However, if any Higher level students are needing help with preparing for speaking presentations, directed writings or translation I would be more than happy to pass over my knowledge.
I base my classes around the student's weaknesses or concerns. The lesson structure would go over the concept and together we do past papers to apply the knowledge. Some homework may be given each session to see how they are coping with the subject. Finally, the student is always allowed to ask any questions.
I'm the winner of 10 international writing awards. I teach creative writing by email, phone, Skype, or in person. This includes advertising copywriting, websites, novel-writing and scriptwriting for short films, feature films, TV drama and TV documentaries. I'll work whichever way suits you.
My teaching method involves breaking down the core mechanics of arguments to clearly illustrate the characteristics each paragraph should demonstrate. By reducing the sometimes daunting scale of an argumentative essay to a formulaic approach I help my students focus and clarify their arguments.
Past paper and specimen papers are a really efficient way to identify areas of the course which need guidance, and is great for getting exam practice at the same time.

I recently obtained an A in Higher mathematics, physics, chemistry and computing and have now left school to do artificial intelligence at Edinburgh University next year. I recognise 5th year is the hardest year of high school. What it comes down to is understanding and studying. With my knowledge, I know the ins and outs of these 4 courses.
