My name is Elika and I absolutely love maths. Ever since I was very young. I give lessons to primary secondary and As and A level students. My method of teaching consists of talking the confusion out and talking you through the problem to get to a solution making it quite easy to understand. I love complexity...
So, I am probably far from you. Manchester was chosen since I like the city so much. I spent two months there in the past and couldn't choose here my place in Poland.
I have over twenty years of experience in teaching, lecturing and tutoring Biology in classroon, college and home.
Before accepting a work I need to know what are the goals in terms of: 1) objective (e.g., I want to be able to solve second-degree equations) 2) time available (e.g., 1 month) 3) current gap (e.g., not able to solve first degree equations). Based on the above I design a program with topics to cover, exercises and activities (e.g.
Need to pass History? I am currently studying for a degree in Politics and Modern History in the University of Manchester. I specialise in exam preparation, and teach the curriculum though simple and easy to understand methods.
I am currently a 2nd year physics student at the University of Manchester. When it comes to teaching dense subjects such as Mathematics and physics, I believe that portraying complicated concepts in a simplistic way is vital. As a recent A- level student I believe that I understand the pressure that students are under and was not so long ago in the same position as them.
I'm a medical student at the University of Manchester. I come from Mauritius (a small island in the Indian Ocean). I have completed my GCE exams in 2016, achieving a B in biology and A*'s in physics, chemistry and mathematics at A-level. I did not have much time to prepare my biology exams as I undertook it 6 months ahead of the normal examination time.
My teaching methodology is first examining the student capabilities, once i see the gaps i will create a plan for the student which we will focus on weekly then examining them in a stress free manner. I like interactive sessions where students enjoy class most.
I prefer giving lessons one to one to anyone from any background and age. I prefer to use both images, presentations, written and verbal methods to teach. I tend to cater my lessons for each individual. So no matter your learning ability or skill I will make you feel as comfortable and make sure each lesson was understandable.
My teaching method is to make acronyms or find a pattern within the topic to make it easier for the students
One to one skype sessions, starting with a long chat where we can get to know each other. By the end of the first session we can make a list of deadlines and targets you are working toward. My own experience with A Levels suggests that time is what it takes! a thorough plan and break down of each topic in the syllabus is really important so you can link questions to what you've been asked to learn.
Overall, I base my classes around the subject specification. I will mostly cover the lesson by showing a fun and informative powerpoint. There will be learning objectives at the start of each lesson which the student should be able to complete by the end. Lastly, there will also be questions at the end and some additional homework.
My teaching method is student lead and person centred. Allowing the student to work at their own pace and ability.
I will base my lessons on any parts of the Mathematics curriculum in which the student find difficult or need assistance with (practice makes perfect). My degree and career has allowed me to see practical examples of Mathematics and how certain areas of Mathematics can be applied to real life!.
My teaching methods are very simple, for each concept I give a brief overview, and then test the students ability to understand the concept through questions designed to see if/where the student is struggling.
My teaching methods is based on the need of each student. Students can ask me what they would like to learn and what they need help with.
Using first principles to ensure a clear understanding that can be applied to solve any problem encountered, while ensuring the learning experience is pleasant, and easy.
I Taught art to myself from a young age. From 15 I was being paid to tutor younger kids, I find simple and repetitive, getting more complex each time works best for beginners. However pushing your creative boundaries once you have the hang of it, will always be key.
i can help on line, as i am based now in france. i am available mainling on the evenings from 19 to 20 o'clock or week-ends (saturdays or sundays) I can help with the vocabulary, make right sentences, translation and so on.
My teaching method is to identify key areas which each student is struggling in. This is done initially by a small test, but also by talking to the student. The overall aim is to have the student at a level of understanding where they are able to describe a topic in their own words, unprompted.
I would base my classes on teaching the content to the student followed by 'activities' to see what was understood and what needs to be worked on. I will work alongside the student to cater to the best way they study ... whether it be visual, auditory and so on. Help with assignments would also be provided.
My teaching method, is to start off ''fun''. I try to make the other person happy. I'm willing for other people to interrupt me, if they have a question, or if I'm going too fast. I talk positively and fluently.
My teaching method is setting the foundations for learning by focusing on grammar, and then adding in vocabulary along the way with relevent tasks
My teaching method is to work around the syllabus of your course .Aswell as me going over the work in which your teacher may have given you.I also like to recommend animated philosophy videos in order for you to visualise the knowledge being given to you as, I feel that visual imagery is a great source for you to remember things as just large amounts of written work is boring.
I try to match with the students needs and their style of studying so that it's easier for them to study
I am confident in tutoring both one on one and class situations. My aim is to engage students and help them develop a genuine interest in the subject(s). It is important to build on that interest and use it to gain a detailed understanding of the syllabus and how to excel in exams.
As a tutor I like to explain the concepts followed by lots of examples. I set selected examples for the student do. I set home work which is important. As the student progresses the questions gets harder.
My goal as a tutor is not just to teach you enough to help you pass the next exam. I work with my students so that they not only know the material that we are covering, but also so that they understand the meaning of the material, the background behind it, and how to apply it in the real world.
I approach my tutoring based on the needs of the individual and work on a approach which is easy to follow
I approach the student by asking what the already know about the subject and asking them to explain it briefly and find out what technique is easier for them to revise and remember the specific subjects for example if the student finds it easier to have flash card or a mind map then they can jot ideas down on flash cards or a blank piece of A3 with colours if that helps them remember it easier
