I approach tutoring by first looking over the whole syllabus and dividing up sections by those which will require more time and effort towards and areas which may have already been touched upon previously by the student to dedicate and set out a lesson plan across the time from first meeting my student to the examination period.

I start the first lesson by assessing the level and key areas that the student needs help in and from there draw up a plan going forward to help improve their weak areas. My Technique for teaching varies from many, I aim to understand how the student likes to learn and capitalise on that method. Most of the time I find students do not know how to understand the content especially when it comes to science, therefore my lessons tend to be very interactive in order to get the understanding across as opposed to just memorising for exams.
I have taught students who are under GCSE level and just starting GCSE level work. I make sure to have resources which will help with the lesson such as revision guides, worksheets etc. I also make sure to repeat anything that I have said which is important to make sure that it is sinking in.
I have taught martial arts before, which carried its own challenges, but all of the children that I was teaching really liked my teaching method. i will always show a student what to do at least once and allow them to practice what i have shown them, nudging them and prompting them when necessary if they get the answer wrong and will always go through it again if necessary.
I want to know any problems my students are having with topics so I can explain and show my pupils how to overcome these problems. I think an easy conversation followed by me explaining the methodology is my most successful approach.
My Teaching method is to tailor the needs of each individual into each lesson whether it is private tuition or group lessons, as by meeting the learning needs of each individual they can develop an understanding much more effectively and in a faster time.
