My teaching is bespoke - I can differentiate my lessons to suit any needs that the child may have, including leaning, physical and mental difficulties. My background is in genetic research, in Cambridge, before coming over to Birmingham to get my PGDipEd qualification teaching all three of a the sciences, specifically biology.
I believe in customizing the lesson and a lot of out of the box tricks to make it both fun and effective for students to learn Arabic/Hebrew. Passionate about International Relations and Global Affairs that no mat-ter how hard the subject may seem for you I'll infect you with my pas-sion and you would enjoy the lesson.
I can teach up to the university level. I value deep understanding. When a topic is truly understood, the relevant information is more likely be stored in the long term memory. I would identify a student's preference for learning (Visual, aural, verbal etc.) and then build a lesson around their strengths.
SPANISH: - Native and fluent in spanish, achieving an A* at both GCSE and A-level, speak only Spanish at home - Able to give tutoring in writing (spelling, grammar etc), as well as conversational practice to anyone ranging from beginners to A-level standard.
I am able to give lessons to those studying to a GCSE level and below. I like to make teaching fun and interactive, as I feel it engages the student more than simply reading from a textbook and making notes. In terms of lesson structure, I would need an overview of the module and categorise it, dividing each into an individual lesson.
I can best support pupils studying at KS3, KS4 (GCSE and BTEC) and KS5 ( A level) I am a friendly tutor who is approachable and I make challenging topics easier to understand. I utilise past paper questions to support exam technique, and work through problem areas with each pupil.
I currently tutor students from Primary school up until GCSE in maths, chemistry and biology.
I love teaching and especially making a difference which I have done numerous times. I care about how people learn and have a particular focus on teaching in a way that is best for each individual. As we all learn differently and so I have a specific focus on making the learning relevant to each student.
My name is Nathan, I am a sixth form student currently studying physics, ICT and business studies for my A-levels. I will try to cater the lessons for the student's needs, accessing them to see where their weak spots are and help fill the gaps in their knowledge through a series lessons designed for the student.
With a long term and professional experience of teaching/ tutoring, I am aware that every child is individualistic and therefore the criteria of teaching is adapted to benefit them. On the whole, my method for a new student for a new term is to pre- teach them school curriculum so they are able to excel and simply understand the same lessons in school.
I introduce a topic by discussing what is already known, through questioning or an activity. This is then built on with animations, video clips, paper based tasks and mini-experiments, where possible. Then to ensure learning has occurred, questioning would take place and depending on the needs of the tutee, answering practise exam questions - going through answers and giving feedback.
Whatever works. Practical demo's where needed. Video's, concept maps, note taking etc. Huge bank of concept challenging questions, and interpretation of data, application of science to scenario's. And lots and lots of exam practise! Each lesson comprises part of an individual programme of study. These are individual based on what the student wants out of the lesson.
I am happy to tutor Biology at levels: primary, secondary, GCSE, AS level, A level and undergraduate. Biology exams pose a fairly unique challenge to students. An often-daunting breadth of knowledge and fact-learning is tested; yet, in throwing all efforts into memorising, many students sadly trip up in exams because they have not been taught a true understanding of underlying biology concepts.
What will the student get: -Tutoring in English or Greek (for Greek students living and studying in the UK), as Greek is my native language. -Personalised exercises and exams that fit their specific needs and target the weaknesses and strengths. -Guidance during the exam period. -Extra material with normal, medium and advanced difficulty tests in order to test their skills and learn faster.
My aim is to make learning fun, I like to tailor learning to the needs of students and have assisted many younger veterinary students throughout my time at university and as a veterinary surgeon. I am very patient and like to come up with interesting ideas for learning to help make studies easier.
I am a PhD neuroscience student and have always had a thirst for knowlede. I now want to motivate other to strive for more and gaining a knowledge bug themselves. Using positive feedback for their achievements and indicating weaknesses and how to tackle them for skill development.
My name is Laura and I give science lessons to primary and secondary school pupils, primarily on Biology but also have a working knowledge of chemistry and physics. My techniques are highly interactive getting the student to be heavily involved in the lessons so they feel in control of their learning.
Dear students! I was an A level student just as yourselves, and I am open to giving lessons to anyone who is struggling with their A levels, regardless of where you are or think you are in your exam grades! My techniques in teaching, are short snap-revised video lessons or using pictures as well as in typing, depending on the subject topic at hand, in a cohesive, short and easy to understand...
I've been teaching for over 5 years, mainly Scuba diving and fitness training. Let me tell you, that teaching someone how to scuba when they are afraid of water is very tricky and will only work with confidence and trust.
We will work as a team to make sure you achieve the best grades possible. I won't be teaching you straight from a book, I will teach you the subject in different ways which will be enjoyable. I will teach you the subject but I will also be teaching you how to pass the exam by making sure what you learn can easily be applied to those tough exam paper questions.
My main focus is to try to get students to really understand the content rather than just memorising what will come up on the exam. I think going through all the modules with students and then doing a lot of past paper questions is the best technique to obtain the grade you want.
I'm a fun, engaged and enthusiastic learner and I want to spread that ethos to all the students I teach.
Hello! I am going into my first year of college and I am becoming a tutor to enable myself to share knowledge with others in my specialist subject areas. I am aiming to tutor students of a variety of ages from junior school through to GCSE level pupils. I prefer the method of one on one teaching; I like to structure lessons around the student's requirements.
I offer lessons to students studying an undergraduate Biological Sciences degree and to high school students studying Biology at any SQA level.
I break down each topic into small, manageable segments and make my own resources for the pupil to easily learn these. I find that as a young tutor pupils relate more to my teaching style and I understand how to engage them. Hence I keep my teaching very interactive, with the primary focus of maximising examination grades.
I teach using colours and more discussion based over writing a lot, as this is how I learn. Each lesson will be a small introduction to the subject, a small worksheet with questions which you can attempt, then we discuss or can go through them together.
My approach is a holistic one, tackling not only academic achievements but to stir in them an enthusiasm to learn, to develop a self-driven attitude in them that is beneficial in the working world-- all these are a product of the benefit of foresight I believe I possess.
I'm studying an undergraduate degree, so I'm able to tutor students up to A-levels and first year undergraduate confidently. I like to introduce a topic, go over a couple of examples and then expand on areas that my students find difficult or interesting.
Every person has different requirements and I tailor my teaching style to suit the individual in-front of me. I try to understand what the student finds difficult and concentrate on the areas in which you need the most support. Everyone learns differently and so we need to try different approaches to see what learning style you find most effective.
Tutoring Approach: Comprehensive, combining mentoring and tutoring, establishing motivation, deductive methods for solving problems, tackling questions with ' Pyramid Technique'. Time and stress management in solving problems. Question-based exam preparation.
