My approach is hands-on, example driven where concepts are elucidated by way of rogorous examples. Also, I prefer a flipped classroom method where participants have an opportunity to look at content before meetings.
I approach each topic by talking to the student to enquire whether they have some understanding or presumptions. Following this I briefly explain the topic broadly, ensuring key themes are visited. I then focus on these key themes with a in-depth explanation which is then followed by a task or a quiz to ensure the student understands.

As part of my PhD, i have undergone a teaching assistant preparation course and learnt the important keys in transferring knowledge. For programming courses, the starting could prove tasking and you may require more than a youtube tutorial to give you that push and someone physical to actually explain why, what, how etc.
I present my students with the knowledge and understanding necessary to apply a topic to any scenario they wish.
I am a true believer that Education is the Key to success and I believe that every Student should be entitled to an outstanding Education with lessons delivered by the best practitioners, no matter whether that be in main stream schooling or at home. I believe that if Students are supported in the correct manner, they will benefit greatly from Academic Support in their future lives.
Be all you can be - Which subject(s) do you teach? I mainly teach computer programming which includes a wide variety of technologies and languages including html, xhtml, xml/xslt, c#, asp, asp.net, visual studio, javascript, databases, web sites & applications as well as traditional desktop applications.
I usually allow the student to lead the session at the beginning, i.e. I let them ask any specific questions they might have. Afterwards, I go through their homework with them and correct it. Then I identify what their weaknesses are and work on that with more practice exercises and further explain the theory when necessary.
