I like first to know what the student wants to learn. I do research. Art is not much theoretical as it is something you need to practice. I mostly show and ask for projects and practice.
Hello, I am an artist and tutor and teach art to all ages. I firmly believe that learning should be fun and so whatever level I teach at I ensure that my students feel at ease. That way they will make better work! I like to give students room to explore whilst teaching formal skills in drawing and painting. I teach drawing and painting in their widest forms.
As a Creative Advocate and a practicing artist I am very well aware of what it means to work in an artistic capacity. I have had over 20 years experience in the creative industries and I am a huge fan of collaboration and have learnt that coupled with sustainability and engagement it is a driving force that will upgrade any creative project.
My teaching method is structured on each student’s need. In the first meeting I want to learn more about my student, to see their portfolio or drawings, to get a clear picture about what is needed to be taught. Then, depending on the student, I will have special teaching method. I’ve worked with 5 year old children up to 40year olds, so I know how to make a plan for everyone.
I’m a London based artist who teaches short courses at Central St Martins. I also teach privately, one to one either in person or by Skype. My specialities are drawing, portfolio preparation, 3d and sculpture. I have taught all age groups from 6 year olds to 70 year olds but mostly my students are preparing for art college.
Although every student is individual, I believe the best way to teach is by first explaining and then giving them something to work through themselves. This is more efficient than just talking to them as it allows them to think for themselves.
My teaching method is fun and inclusive. I like the students to work with me step by step. I am keen to answer questions along the way and I welcome new and insightful ideas, proposals and techniques. It is important that the student develops their own flair when practising art, and that they find their own sense of individuality.
Having achieved an A* in Art and Design GCSE in 2016, then a 6 in the IB Visual Arts Higher Level in 2018, I have a strong knowledge of how to succeed in art academically, as well as a creative streak which helps me to express myself through different media.
Have you always wanted to learn how to sketch or draw? Tired of the same old life classes and lessons in three point perspective??? Learning how to draw or paint can be fun! Discover classical anatomy through the masters of comic books, the mysteries of abstract painting through 19th century poetry, create the most intelligent and original portfolio for your application to any of London’s leading
I base my classes specifically on the student's desirable focus and level. The classes will be more practical than theoretical because I believe this is the best way for students to adopt skills. I am extremely patient, so do not worry about making mistakes. I'd love to help you improve; that's what I am for.
Kid's 1-2-1 art classes -ages 4 until 11. Small groups possible if your child would like to come with friends, has siblings, or if they have a birthday party, etc. Teach in West Dulwich (may be possible to teach at your house for longer workshops, travel costs additional -please enquire).
I'm Chris and I give art lessons to students of all abilities. I'll help you by listening to what you want to achieve and explaining key concepts clearly. Don't worry if you're just starting out or lack confidence - I'm here to help you make real breakthroughs.
I currently teach private classes to groups and individuals. I find that most of my students come to class with low esteem when it comes to creativity so my methods are based around finding out what they would like to achieve, what inspires them and help them develop a style of drawing and painting which is both satisfying and rewarding which in turn encourages regular practice.
I believe in keeping the tutee's style untouched since I have experienced the influence of teachers tending to morph their student's art into what they desire. I aim to help my tutee prosper in their style of art that they are passionate in and start to apply it to the exam board's standard from there.
I can provide a teenager and adults with basic sketching skills. My teaching methods are using various artist’s work as inspiration to find their favourite way to draw their own style. Give them more practice and let them try to use different materials.
I am convinced that drawing, visuals and more largely communication are the keys to creative practices; I would like to share my design methods to embody your ideas and reflect your values.
I'm an Italian artist with more then 20 years of international experience I had the opportunity to instruct a diverse kind of people and as result I have developed a good teaching techniques and instructional methods that allowed me to educate all style and age of learners and promoted art appreciation and developed creativity.
When a student comes to me whether a beginner or advanced I like to find out what their aims and interests are. I then tailor the course uniquely for them. Because my groups are small I am able to do this. So I may have a class of five all doing different mediums. If a student has never worked in any medium before or for a long time I will structure a course to suit them.
The lessons offered are varied. From Fine line portrait drawing to 3D anamorphic designs. The taster sessions allow you to try out and explore which practice of drawing you would like to develop. They will take you through one , two and three point perspective drawing and how this can be used to develop portrait/character and 3D/anamorphic styles of working.
I tailor each class to the student with no specific regiment, never forcing you to learn anything you dont want. I can help yoh dveelop you skills, eling opportunities and sketchbook development for Alevels or GCSE’s too.
I employ a very practical approach to teaching. I'll show you how by doing, and urge you to put in some practice. It will be fun and exciting.. You would get to understand working with basic inexpensive materials to produce great pieces..

All of my classes are specifically tailored to the interests and needs of the student or class. To that end, I will always begin by speaking directly with you, to ascertain what is is that you want to achieve and where your interests lie.
My approach to teaching is student led. I teach students what they need to know and what they are interested in. I can teach Art from 3 years old to adults. I can teach to any British examination board. I have skills in most Art mediums my favourites being, painting, drawing, textiles and sculpture.
I believe that the right teaching approach does not only come in one specific form. Because we are all different, we also learn in diverse ways and at different paces. My goal is to find out what the most effective learning technique is for my student, and then establishing a plan from there.
My teaching method can be adapted to suit your learning style, Each lesson will contain different practices and experiments. We will learn to use many different mediums to create interesting and professional drawings and paintings. Each session is regularly changed to fit you and your abilities as we progress.
My approach is open, polite, clear, fun, attentive and assertive. The levels of teaching have varied from one on one tuition for GCSE portfolios to big time 'creative' corporations in Hollywood. I encourage all students to use the side of the brain that is less used. I include philosophical approaches to my teaching.
My teaching is entirely student-led. Once I have been briefed on what the student wishes to achieve in the lesson, then we can plan it together - whether that's simply to gain pleasure from creating art, preparing for an art exam or preparing for entrance to art school/university. I am able to take into account personal preferences, learning styles and abilities.
