Perfect! I really enjoyed my initial lesson with David! He is incredibly friendly and encouraging. I look forward to our next lesson!
Perfect! I have had three lessons so far with David and I’m absolutely astounded at how quickly I have progressed.
He is a brilliant teacher and I’m so glad I invested in these lessons.
I’ve always wanted to learn to draw and paint properly but didn’t have the confidence and didn’t think I had the ability.
David has given me huge confidence as well as the tools to be able to construct fairly realistic looking paintings on my own already and that’s just after a few lessons. Excited and Looking forward to continuing learning and progressing with David. Highly recommend!
Perfect! Great lesson, thanks!
Perfect! Extremely in-depth, insightful and knowledgeable
Perfect! David has been teaching me drawing for more than a year. I'm an adult student. He is a perfect teacher of art and drawing. Exceptionally talented, very patient and very experienced in teaching. Thanks to David I made the progress I did not expect. Highly recommend!
Perfect! David is very talented. He has shown a lot of imagination when teaching our children. We highly recommend him!
Perfect! Really good!
Perfect! David is an excellent drawing teacher. He is clear when explaining techniques and he listens well. He has helped me in drawing furniture designs and also book illustrations. He prepares for the lessons and invests thought into how to structure his sessions. I would recommend David to anyone.
Perfect! I would highly recommend taking art lessons with David ! I was very pleased with my one to one lessons, which helped me gain confidence and improve on my skills as an artist. David has a wonderful positive and encouraging teaching style. Thank you David for all your support and knowledge in helping me on my journey ! I look forward to more lessons soon.
Excellent! David has been teaching my 9-year-old for the past seven months. It has been incredible to see the progress in the techniques he uses, there is clear structure to the lessons and the most important thing for me is that my son really looks forward to these classes, thoroughly enjoys them and looks forward to completing any tasks assigned for the week. David is gentle but clear in the expectations set for the lessons and my son responds really well to this pace. I am now starting lessons for my 5-year-old because I trust that David can provide a good learning environment for him, David is experienced and this comes across in his ability to convey complex technique to children. I would happily recommend him.

I met David through a friend of mine.I was looking for someone to design the cover of my music album. From the beginning I saw David's passion and knowledge and after our first collaboration I asked David if he could teach me the basics of his art. His way of teaching is so fun that really soon I started designing my own ideas for my next albums. Actually David showed me the way to do it my self!
Thanks man! Looking forward for our next lesson!
I met David by chance in one of his trips in Greece!
It's been 2 years already that I have been taking drawing classes!
David is a charismatic, dedicated and inspirational teacher with a vast artistic talent!!
I am not charismatic at all, but he actually managed to bring out possibilities in me that I could never even imagine!
His approach is very attentive and encouraging, introducing various techniques and explaining them step by step. David will go to all lenghts to ensure you achieve the best, pushing you forward in a way that is really motivating, but never overwhelming!
Looking forward to my next class!!!!
David has been our daughter's drawing teacher for 10 months now. He came highly recommended and we were not disappointed.
David is brilliant. He has a very calming presence and is very good at engaging with children. We were pleasantly surprised at how David manages to contain our daughter's excited enthusiasm (as he politely put it...) and to keep her focused for 1 hour. The classes themselves are excellent: children learn to carefully observe, to recognise shapes and patterns, and to describe them. This enables children to draw in a way that otherwise would not be possible, and, has allowed David to successfully and effectively run Zoom classes during lockdown.
In short, I would warmly recommend David to any parent!
It's been a true delight having David as my tutor for the last few months. His passion and experience on drawing is valuable in helping me find my own style and explore new possibilities, while at the same time we're sticking to technique and covering all the basics of drawing. I always look forward our next class and I couldn't recommending him more for anyone who is interested in exploring this world.
I have been working with David for over 6 months with the goal of improving my illustration skills. It's fair to say that I have improved dramatically in this time and most of that is down to his excellent teaching and mentorship. He has been able to adapt his lessons to suit my goals and interests. He has devised tailored exercises to help me progress in the specific areas I need to. David is both affable and professional and has a wealth of experience and knowledge of the many facets of art training. I intend to continue to work with David as I grow as an artist.
Private tuition may be expensive but I consider it to be more than worth the cost no matter what you are trying to learn. There's only so much you can gain by watching online videos. To improve it is essential to get real feedback and help from someone with more experience who really cares about helping you. For drawing and painting lessons David is your man!
David has provided a perfectly tailored and intuitive experience! In understanding the initial level I was at with my drawing, he was able to direct my development based on my interest in science fiction and character design.
David is a dedicated art tutor, with a very creative approach. Calm, resourceful and fun as a person, he made every lesson interesting and challenging, which is a very important factor for me. He also is very happy to adjust his lesson plans according to my questions and difficulties, so I always feel that I get a completely tailor made lesson! I couldn't recommend more David as an art tutor!

Find out more about David
When did you start practising? How did this passion find you?
I have always had a pencil in my hand! At first, art allowed me to create my own worlds and stories. Later it helped me to explore the world around me with fresh eyes. It has been with me my whole life and made it so much richer!
Which artists or works affect you the most?
Such a difficult question! For being a master of figures and ridiculously ahead of his time, it has to be El Greco. For the sheer love of oil paint and how to use it, it will always be Willem de Kooning! For manga, it has to be Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira. I first read it when I was 15, it blew my mind then, and it still does!
What are the qualities and skill required to succeed in this area?
Just two things: Patience and practice! Everyone can draw! It is like any other skill! Nobody expects to be born knowing how to play the piano, but almost everyone believes drawing is a God-given talent. It is not. Practice is the key to any skill!
What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?
It is alright to put something away and come back to it with fresh eyes.
How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?n
It makes me feel that I can create any reality I want!
What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?
I was incredibly proud when my paintings were exhibited next to Picasso and Andy Warhol at the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz. It was my first museum show!
Have you ever been surprised by a student, by their ability or quick progression?
I have been surprised by the talent of a five year old boy who creates his own hilarious comic strips! They are so good I would happily buy them!
Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?
I love my job, and I love showing people that anyone can pick up a pencil and draw!
