Lessons can vary depending on the topics - and of course the students! I usually base my methodology on the student themselves - for student's struggling with course work, we go through previous work and look to see where we can improve understanding of the material or improve the sentences themselves. For students we work best pictorially we create mind maps together and talk through the subject.
My teaching method is firstly an overview of the topic then providing examples worked through with the student and I. Then independent work to see if they have grasped the concept. This can take different approaches based on individual pupils.
I'm a second year undergraduate student studying Social Anthropology. However, I studied English up to A level achieving a solid A grade. My aim is working with students predominately at secondary level (GCSE and A level) but I can teach younger students if required. I normally start with a consultation with the student to see what they need help with and relevant material for each student.
I will first get an understanding of the types of learners that I am teaching and thereafer develop a strategy that will align with their interests. Creative strategies will be employed such as videos, songs as well as other fun and exciting activities.

My teaching focuses on passion and enthusiasm -- English is so easily dismissed by people who find it difficult. I endeavour to confer my deep enthusiasm and appreciation for literatures to students. As such, I work on exploring different avenues than those students have already found, to try and unlock greater enjoyment and deeper understanding.
I give lessons to a wide range of pupils, from Year 7 to 18+. I structure my lessons to the individual pupil, using their progress made so far to provide tailor-made lessons that adhere to the particular curriculum. This allows me to make sure that we pupils make tangible progress.
I find it helpful to go over past work with my student and point out where they could improve, perhaps followed by a rewrite of the assignment they struggled with. I can provide lists of tips and advice, and I believe above all in a patient and compassionate attitude towards my student, whilst ensuring they are listening and learning.
I am a university student in QUB, studying drama and theatre. I have completed ten GCSE's and four A levels, all grade C or above and have a passion for innovitave and dynamic teaching. I went to Assumption Grammar school where my drama teacher often asked me to create lesson plans and teach students at GCSE and A level, when she was engaged in other activities.
I am an A-level student so I do understand the stresses of school and can sympathise to a degree with students, I would prefer to tutor students at GCSE level as I gained quite a bit of experience at this level myself. I am stern when needed and lenient when needed, I am kind, passionate about this subject and willing to adapt to others needs and requirements.
My teaching ethos includes making learning as effective and simple as possible. It's really about creating a rapport between the tutor and the student, and listening to what the student needs. Every student learns through different techniques, and have been a student myself I understand all the variations.
I offer tutoring for students of any age, up to University level. I can be flexible with my approach, adapting to suit the needs of each student.

I've just graduated from Queen's University with a degree in English literature and modern history. My dream is to become a teacher who can combine a passion for knowledge with a positive student experience. My lessons are based on listening to the student and molding the lesson around their personal needs. I'm here to listen and help rather than force my interests on the student.
I’m currently a first year English literature student. Reading and writing has always been a major part of my life and something in which I have been proficient since primary school.

Preference for 1 to 1 sessions or small groups. Teach different topics for each session, planning activities and work for each session plus additional homework relating to the topic of that session and preparation activity for the upcoming topic for the following session.
I try to make sessions as interactive as possible to make the student comfortable and open up with the issues they face in the language and help in every possible manner. I also try to organize short quiz and games to make the sessions interesting.
My teaching method is one of support and guidance. I like to give students the opportunity to test themselves in their writing and then offer advice and support based on the strengths of their writing and offer tips as to how to improve it. I believe each student has different learning styles and so this strategy allows me to understand that child's best way of learning.
Allowing the pupil to present their work or demonstrate knowledge or technique then I give constructive criticism, guidance, offer methods and techniques to help them achieve their true potential. I usually give homework or exercises to help pupils retain knowledge on, or practice whatever it is they are struggling on.
