My name is Lloyd. I have been a teacher for 30 years, both working with large companies, universities and government departments in countries such as; Italy, Germany and Viet Nam. I have particular experience with teaching Academic IELTS in South East Asia to students who intend studying or immigrating to English Speaking Countries and, today, also the new 'Life Skills' A1 and B1 exams.
I use the method that I learnt through Tefl, which is fairly traditional, but I also use many pictures also, for reading, writing, speaking and listening. I have taught lessons, using a repetitive method and visual images to help the student. A needs assessment is always necessary, to establish the students level of language. I am a very relaxed and informal tutor.
I teach whoever may be struggling with the base and ends of English; student or adult. I develop by analysing quotes, allowing them to understand grammar along with textbook help. I understand that English isn't everyone's strongest factor, but students need to realise how much freedom the subject has; especially when it leads to creative writing and poetry.
I try to focus on the root of the subject before jumping into solving problems. I believe it's always important to learn before apply.
My teaching comes with years experience and I'm always being hunted by professionals for employment.
My teaching consists of reading, writing and speaking along with a few tests to see their ability first to know where to start.
