My approach to teaching will vary according to the audience. For example, a conversational french lesson will be centred around a more relaxed session, using examples and situations that will generate interest such as day to day occurrences. For students needing a more formal lesson designed around spelling, vocabulary and grammar, I use books, manuals and dictionaries.
I work closely with my student to understand their needs, my lessons are well organised and structured. I use a lot of my own resources to achieve the best results and have regular assessment so my student can see what they have learned. I cover grammar, conversation and translation.
Hello, my name is Sarah, I am 23 and I am currently a student at the University of Essex in Colchester. I am from Belgium, which means that I am a native French speaker and I would love to help you practice ! I can definitely help you improve your speaking and writing skills in French, no matter which level you are.
It all depends on your level and why you want to learn French for. I like to use real life to learn a language , as through role play, or watching a film clip or tv news or reading an article, and discussing it.
I don't do lessons or classes but I can help/support for homework, pronounciation, discussion, understand the french culture...
My teaching method is "have fun" you can't learn a new language too seriously because that will take your motivation away. Games, movies, and discovering the culture is an easy way to learn a new language.
Hello ! My name is Jennifer. I come from southern France and I am French Teaching Assistant in a school in Colchester. I am available to give private lessons in and around Colchester, from beginners to students preparing PGCE or even A-level. I am very serious and patient with my students, my aim is to help them getting better and confident in French, in writing AND speaking.
I believe that languages have to be taught in a fun and pleasant way. A typical lesson plan in my class would be the following: I would face the student to new vocabulary/verbs/grammar rules, try to make the student understand through context what the new words mean and do an exercise. I will, obviously, shape the lesson according to my students' levels and engagement to my lessons.
- Classes Students attend for a free assessment which allows us to judge their progress and then students are given an individual work plan which addresses their needs. Students can attend for 30 mins (1 subject) or 60 mins (2 subjects) when they will complete tasks both written and computer based. Homework is set weekly.
I offer one to one lessons, or if you prefer we can arrange small group lessons. I can teach anyone looking to improve their French, whether it be a teenager looking for help as they prepare to sit their GCSE's, or an adult wanting to brush up ready for their summer holiday. I will tailor each session to your needs and develop a plan of learning unique to you and your requirements.
The student being at the center of the learning process, my lessons are tailored to suit each individual's needs. My lessons are well structured and put the emphasis on communication.
I am a PhD researcher. I worked as an English graduate teaching assistant (GTA) and also as a part-time TEFL teacher. I am fluent in Arabic, French and English (spoken/ written). - Which subject(s) do you teach? Arabic, French, English and IELTS. - Tell me about your qualifications.
My approach is done on Skype or face to face. I like to encourage students to engage with basic French culture in order to understand better the people they are imitating. For this I suggest films, cartoon and the hugely popular BD (Tintin, Asterix, etc). I like to have fun whilst exploring French culture and themes as they are normally quite funny and enjoyable.
I am a mum of 2 children. I love my French culture and children, I'm friendly. I normally teach for 1h for over 7 years old and just half an hour for under. I separate my teaching time in 3 slots with oral, writing, reading exercises depends on the current level and age of the student plus usually give extra work to be due on the next session.
My teaching style is hands-on and inter-active. A large emphasis is placed on the practical. Visual and up-to-date materials are used wherever possible alongside traditional resources (verb tables). Lessons are broken down into bite-size chunks with the learner central and their needs dictate the speed and the objectives.
I tailor my teaching approach to the needs of my students and am fully aware of the requirements of GCSE and A level courses and examinations.
I enjoy a relaxed approach to teaching! I've been there and done it all before and remember that being laid back is the best way to learn!
I teach french conversation, writing and reading, together with a broad country overview in terms of geographics, extensive wine knowledge and classical french cooking. Lessons will be adapted to specific needs and can take any form both formal and informal and will be ideally given in French.
Will base my classes on individual need depending level. Could start from pictures, to simple lines to text or simple phrases if you desire to know what to say during your holidays...
