An experienced Private Tutor, retired Senior Lecturer, Wolverhampton University Formerly at Cambridge and Edinburgh Universities - Which subject(s) do you teach? Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Computer Science, Study Skills - Tell me about your qualifications.
My teaching method is to find out how much my student knows so I always start at a standard they are comfortable with. I often find the best way they learn is through answering questions, especially in Maths and Physics. Often I will set questions and guide them along the way or help them if they get stuck, I don't want to just talk at them for an hour.
I like to approach each lesson and each student based on their specific needs, learning process and learning speed. I believe under the right circumstances and with the right amount of patience, any student can learn what they need to in order to achieve the highest possible grades.
I give lessons to all age groups from year 1 till A'level. I like asking the student what they would like to focus on first as I believe the students will have an idea of what they struggle with the most. After that, I can gauge where else they might be struggling and try and focus on basics before heading them into the deep end.
Along my private lessons, I have given lessons from 7 to 21 years old, always with a succesfull results During my lessons I try that the student find out his own mistakes and explain my the way he does the exercises and the because of the things.
- Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach A-Level Economics, Mathematics and Further Mathematics. - Tell me about your qualifications. I completed high school in Malaysia, earning an SPM qualification. Following that, I proceeded to study my A-Levels in Singapore. In the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Levels examination, I obtained 6 distinctions out of the 7 subjects that I took.
I try to convey my own enthusiasm for my subjects as well as I can. I understand that these subjects are very challenging so need to be broken down and worked through step by step, at different paces, depending on the individual needs of each student.
I have a very strong passion for anything with maths, I have conducted talks at some primary schools about maths and have seen many lectures about maths. Would love to help teach others in a friendly and positive environment.
