I am a UK qualified teacher with over 18 years of teaching experience. I have taught both Primary, Year 1 to Year 6 including; Year 2 and Year 6 SATS, I have also taught Secondary students up to Key Stage 4 - Humanities, English and PE. I have also acquired teaching Special Educational Needs in both schools and as a Private Tutor.
I am currently studying Geography at Lancaster University and I have accepted an offer to study a PGCE in Secondary Geography at Cambridge University next year. I am offering lessons to Primary and Secondary school students, I am willing to tailor classes to the students needs. For example, helping with homework and practising exam technique to ensure the best results possible are achieved.
I approach each topic based on what the student already knows, and what they wish to achieve. Each lesson will be planned according to personal goals, but will largely focus on tackling past papers. This is because by completing past paper questions, it is possible to find out where errors are made, and where the student requires the most help, assistance and improvement.
I am currently studying History and International Relations, and willing to tutor up to A2 level. I can focus specifically on essay structure/exam preparation if needed, or else offer a more general session focussing on comprehension of time periods and themes.
My teaching method is to teach those of all levels and ability how to better understand history, and allow you to build a passion of history so you yourself can drive for knowledge.
As a qualified teacher of history and geography with QTS, I am able to offer one to one or small groups sessions, KS3 GCSE revision; homework clubs. Can also offer family and local history research tips, guidance and support.
