Previously I have taught specialist subjects at 3rd year Undergraduate level. My teaching style is laid back and friendly, I like to provoke discussion with students as oppose to using a question/answer based method.
My teaching methodology is to focus on the students strengths, by continually helping them to build confindence in that subject. As well as insuring that a wide range of topics are covered at a pace that suits them. I am also experienced in working with students that have anxiety or low self confidence.
I like to keep my teaching style fun and interactive, with an emphasis on building upon what you already know and working towards achievable targets. I am a big fan of visual learning, especially labelled diagrams! But will adjust to the requirements of the pupil.
My lesson structures are by topic each week. There is a set of key information and after working through the basics we look at how this links in with the rest of the topic because the foundations are key. I believe that past questions are essential for the sciences and therefore I like to finish off each session by applying the content to specific questions.
I aim to teach in an informal, one-to-one style, where you will ask me questions about where you have difficulties, and we will work through problems together. I aim to give helpful advice tailored to you specifically, and lead you to your own answer rather than simply giving it to you.

I find that people learn best when they are relaxed and most of all, interested in what they are studying. I would work systematically through the material until the student is happy to explore the subject independently. I would encourage students to create helpful anecdotes and use fun revision tips, to help them grasp the subject with greater proficiency.

Looking to teach A level of all exam boards to students. As well as helping give a very clear understanding of the topics, I also focus on exam technique and past paper questions. A student can go up 2 grades just through good exam technique. Having been tutored myself in Geology, I believe that students benefit considerably more from one-on-one tutoring than as a class.
