Hi my name is Saskia, and my goal is to help students find their way of learning. We are all different, sometimes we just need help finding our style! I am very organised and love to help students plan and schedule their study/work time. I believe that it is important to encourage students to try things their own way and gain confidence in subjects they don't feel strong in.
Professional musician with over 18 years experience helping people to get what they want out of playing a musical instrument.
Since I am currently studying PostGCE for Young People and Adult Specialists at Newcastle College, I am learning more effective teaching methods and improving my teaching. I always make my lessons clear and instructive with an achievable goal for the lesson. Using individual lesson plans which are designed with the student each student has a tailored plan for what they want to achieve.
My way of teaching is pretty easy to understand i teach according to the kids ability of understanding and abilities to learn
- Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach electric and acoustic guitar in pop/ rock/ jazz/ blues/ slide/ folk styles. Covering the majority of techniques available to guitarists such as plectrum, finger picking, hybrid picking, slide etc. - Tell me about your qualifications.
i can teach you anything from i see fire by Ed Sheeran to Back in Black by AC/DC, I base my classes on what students want to learn along with things all guitarists need to know. I can approach each student with how they best learn things and im very patient with students who are just starting but want to become Slash.
I am an experienced musician and music teacher currently studying music at Newcastle university. I have played guitar for ten years and in that time have enjoyed perusing various musical endeavors such as playing live music and composing.
I try to deliver lessons based purely on the student’s needs. Some require guidance in technique, others in feel or confidence. I aim to work at a pace that suits the student, and prefer the student to dictate the learning speed. This enables the student to feel appropriately comfortable and removes any element of pressure on the student to succeed.
Hi, I'm Dan! A University student at Sunderland University, I've studied music at GCSE and A-Level achieving an A* in performance for both and have been playing guitar for the last 12 years. I'm primarily a finger-style/percussive guitarist but I've been playing various styles in bands, during school and for my own enjoyment.
Learners set their own goals so they can get the most enjoyment out of learning music, and become the musician they want to become. My teaching has a strong emphasis on improvisation and composition so that students are encouraged to become musicians rather than solely music students.
It depends what we are going to work on. I can teach you how to expand your musicianship, improvisation skills, how to compose your own music and songs. When it comes to performing, your own role on your instrument in a band or as a solo instrument. You can see the guitar in a new light.
I try to make my lessons as fun as possible, so that practise doesn't feel like a chore for my students. Music should be enjoyable and a way to express yourself. I encourage my students to be open minded and also not to give up easily.
My teaching methods are making sure that every class is fun and rewarding. Starting off to play a couple of favourite songs and mastering them.
My method of teaching has always been getting the students straight into playing.
Do you want to play guitar but you’re unsure how to start learning? I’m offering Electric or Acoustic lessons, whatever your preference. For a beginner I will teach you all of the basics: chords, riffs, scales, reading TAB. Once you develop your skills you will learn to play solos and different picking techniques such as palm muting.
I'm Alex! I teach both electric and acoustic guitar to pupils of all abilities (from beginners to more advanced players) in a variety of styles (including Pop, Rock, Blues, and Jazz).
My teaching method is to get my pupils to love to play and learn the guitar so that their teaching experience is driven as much by their own desires to learn as my teaching. My structure is to have 30/45 minute lessons in which we tackle a technical skill in guitar-playing and then apply it by learning its application in modern music.
