Hi all! My name is Rakesh and I have over 22 years guitar playing experience. I give lessons to beginners who have little or no experience and intermediate guitarists who are returning or wish to brush up on their skills.
I am a graduate of Wolverhampton University with a degree in Popular Music. My lessons are tailored to meet the needs of individuals of all ages and levels of ability. My main objective is to encourage a love of music and help you constantly improve. I teach electric, acoustic, bass, ukulele, basic keyboards and an introduction to music theory.
Music is meant to be fun! My main focus for my lessons is for the student to be getting enjoyment out of the instrument. I have taught grades but have found working with the student to find what kind of music inspires them is the best method of teaching. I work one to one in all my sessions.
I would be happy to teach anyone at a beginner level and would cater to your music preferences to teach you to play the music you enjoy.
My teaching method has always been, I demonstrate a technique and slowly break it down for the student and play alongside the student as they learn if they need assistance. I always prefer there to be two guitars, however, one guitar is still possible.
I will provide a variety of key elements to becoming a successful musician and guitarist. I will have equal focus on: - Scalic patterns - Musical Theory - Personal Sound - Live sound I will also focus on the personal needs of you and what you wish to achieve by the end of the course. I will personally shape lessons to suit you individually and to ensure that you achieve success.

My teaching style is very based on the student - I believe no two students need exactly the same lesson, and I make an effort to adapt to each person I teach in this respect.
I approach teaching with a relaxed, but structured approach. Planned lessons are important to ensure progress, however flexibility is just as key to keep the lessons interesting and individual to you. After following a fixed beginner/intermediate lesson plan, an individual lesson plan will be created and modified for you depending on interests and the speed at which you're progressing.
