Hello. I am a skills orientated tutor who works diligently on-line and in person to improve my students' chances of success. I look forward to working with you. Neil - Which subject(s) do you teach? I tutor history, writing skills, study skills, politics, US exam and entrance prep, anything requiring critical thinking, reading, or writing skills. - Tell me about your qualifications.
My teaching method is based on building a personal relationship with the student and creating personalised classes that are tailored to their strengths and weaknesses.
I approach topics by identifying any issues/areas of confusion that may be linked to it. This will prove the focus for the teaching. I then use the skills students are already confident with to help build the others that they are unsure on, taking a positive approach to any issues raised.
My approach changes from student to student. Generally, I find an informal approach yields the best results. I am incredibly passionate about history so I will be as keen to explore the period as the student; help them find any gaps in their knowledge and try to fill them together.
I am happy to tutor students up and in equivalent to A-level standards. I hope to structure lessons based around each individual students' optimum way of learning. As a tutor, I hope to be supportive of my students, in terms of the topic being taught, in addition to any of their other needs- such as personal statements and university applications.
I will tailor my lessons to suit students' needs, and can teach up to an A-level standard. I will ensure that lessons meet individual student syllabuses, and can teach either physical or human geography, but specialise in human geography; politics, social geographies, psychological geographies, and development.
My characteristics as a teacher is as a peer, using a personal mode, I believe that giving students confidence in themselves is truly the best way to achieve their full potential. I use discussion as a key way to try and motivate my students.
Hello! I am at Newcastle University studying History and Archaeology and in my first year. I do all levels up to A Level. I learn visually so I like to set out mind maps with bright colours and draw diagrams to help process the information. I am a very friendly and patient individual. Furthermore, I don't mind going over things if you don't understand them the first time.
I strongly believe that the key to outstanding learning is the genuine rapport between the teacher and the student. Throughout my teaching career, I have been able to establish this by employing different teaching methods and different learning styles that motivate and engage all learners.
My teaching method is mainly casual and conversational. Especially when teaching English as a foreign language, it is about building confidence by speaking with someone who is personable yet constructive. I can tailor my sessions and meetings to specific needs/requirements.
My teaching method is based upon theory as well as practical. I believe it is very important to deliver a good understanding of the topic at hand to the student, and later apply this knowledge to past papers/exam-style questions. This has been the best approach so far, in my tutoring career, that students have found most useful.
I give lessons from GCSE through to A2 and undergraduate level through testing, debate and discussion following a Oxford style tutorial system which aims to stimulate and to engage. I love to inspire my students, honing their techniques, ideas and passions.
Hi! I am incredibly enthusiastic about History and Geography and because of this have decided I would love to teach others on these topics, and help those who might need it. I've have also been praised throughout my entire school career for exceptional writing ability and as such I am also able to provide a more general service of helping students write better essays or assignments.
My teaching method is interactive, I like to make my students think. To summarise a lesson I like to create quizzes for the students to keep an eye on their progress and keep it fun. Lessons can be adapted towards exams or assignments. With essay writing techniques being improved as well as exam techniques.
I enjoy creating accessible notes in order to make sure that the revision process is as easy as possible. I prefer to make revision and classes more of a relaxed, conversation style class in order to keep the work enjoyable and easy.
My teaching is tailored towards the students needs, weather this be organizing revision, spot tests or content presentations. The student will be invited to discuss their ambitions and concerns surrounding the chosen subject and a suitable teaching plan can be developed.
I am 21 years old with experience in the field of History, up to degree level. I am open to any way of learning and will facilitate individual needs to ensure you are comfortable and relaxed in the learning environment.
A standard lesson with me contains a specific time for the student to ask any content related questions they might have. We would then go through revision techniques. I would also go through essay structure with the student until they are confident following this structure in the exam.
I am willing to offer lessons to secondary school students (KS3 to A-Level) on a range of historical topics - my methodology is fluid and responsive, using prior examples of students' work as a focal point for critique and development. I am also a capable user of German.
My teaching methods are very bespoke depending on my pupils. They can be geared towards essay writing or examinations. They are often very interactive and include setting homework.
I would be more than happy to help students with there study up to GSCE level. My teaching style varries to what would be best for the student. This includes talking through the subject, making mindmaps and workflows to help revision.
