I have experience working with children of all abilities. I have acquired various teaching strategies over the years which has increased my ability to help children raise their self esteem and confidence levels in order to progress. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach all the subjects I have indicated above.
I am an enthusiastic, committed tutor who will aim for excellence with your child and nothing less. My aim is to create fun yet informative lessons which are engaging and get to the root of developing your child's confidence and knowledge of the 11+. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I tutor for the 11+, Maths, English and verbal reasoning KS1 & KS2 - Tell me about your qualifications.
I normally prepare lessons relating the subject at hand and give tutors along with exercises for students to practice their skills. Also reviewing the past lessons is also important so I also briefly prepare short review lessons and quizzes for students to do let them understand and remember better.
For A Level tutoring sessions, I will first assess the student's weaknesses, or areas that they want to be improved. I will then create structured lessons where I explain the content, and set relevant questions to maximise understanding. The key to exam success is not only knowing all the content, but having practiced with as many difficult questions as possible.
As a former student of a grammar school achieving A Levels in Mathematics, English Literature and Spanish (2012); a recent graduate with a degree in International Business and Spanish including a year in Mexico City (2016), and working with students in excess of 5 years, I'm a Transformational Tutor.
My lessons can be as relaxed or structured as the student requires. As a trainee secondary maths teacher, I have had lots of experience in planning and delivering fun and carefully designed lessons. However, I am versatile since the A-Level tutor sessions that I have delivered for the past year were very much pupil-led in terms of topics to be discussed.
I have been providing teaching services to primary and secondary school pupils since 2016. My teaching methodology has few approaches as explain below: 1. Organise style (Well prepare to deliver the lesson in advance) 2.
I like to use a bit of psychology and interaction, i like to know what the students like, and build my lessons around what they already understand and love. My students are mostly from Year 11 and below. I always love to teach with a smile and if i can, get them to smile as well.
My teaching method is directly inspired by the syllabus at hand so that no unnecessary knowledge is taught (unless I feel it beneficial/ student has a genuine interest). Each examinable topic will be tackled thoroughly and completely. I have no problem teaching by the genuine interest in the student if they wish to inquire further in any area.
When teaching GCSE maths, I think its important to firstly make sure that whoever you're teaching is comfortable with you and feels like they can always approach you with questions, no matter how simple the questions may seem. Afterwards, a brief conversation about the pupil's strengths and weaknesses would help me find out which areas of maths we ought to dedicate more time towards.
I tend to adapt my teaching methods to the student, since I am well aware that we all learn differently. I will usually assess what level the student is at first, with some general problem solving tasks, and then begin my teachings from there, homing in on any misunderstandings until we can confidently answer similar questions independently.
I approach lesson dependent on the student and the level of the student's ability and their needs. As well as following the required skills for the relevant exam, I also work to develop the student's skills in the subject in general to ensure a complete understanding.
I like to go through worked examples on the chosen topic so you can understand how the answer is reached and the methods in obtaining the answer, then see if you can apply this to questions similar to those shown.
I try to cover a topic a lesson, ensuring every aspect is covered and understood before moving onto the next one as I know it's important to not just be able to do the method but be able to apply it to questions. Also, I want the student to dictate the lesson, I want it to be most effective for you so therefore I will ensure every session is aimed to help you.
I arrange lesson according to learner needs.I also provide worksheets to help consolidate knowledge in the time between lessons.I make clear target grades for students.Answer all the questions they need extra help to solve them.I also offer free support outside the session.
I base my classes off of what the student knows is a weakness, or what a start off test shows to be the weakness. I aim to give at least two known methods to solve any problem, and if the time is available before exams, the knowledge as to why they work.
I teach students with anything that they don’t understand and will have a planned lesson ready to help you improve your maths. I teach each topic in order depending on the specific needs of my students and will help with anything difficult to improve.
If you think i can teach you first i shall test you, from there we will figure out your weakness and strength. We will improve on your weakness and maintain your strength. there would be test after every topics i will teach.
I am an A level student studying maths, i have a lot of experience with maths and achieved an A in my Gcses and I am also predicted an A for A level, In terms of my teaching, i prefer to explain the technique/question first and then demonstrate an example of how the question is completed, followed by giving students some basic questions and progressing them onto to harder variations, i will...
Dr. M. Mohsin, • PhD and Masters in Maths, both from the University of Birmingham. • Graduation in Maths and Physics from the University of Punjab. • Tutoring Approach: I believe that Maths is a problem solving science and, therefore, I try my best to solve the problems that my students have.
- 17 year old A level maths student who enjoys maths - Taught maths in a tuition centre to students from primary school SATs to GCSE students - Personally got grade A in my maths GCSE - Simple methods for all maths topics
An initial assessment will be completed to establish a students current mathematical skills and level, intending t acheive GCSE Maths or Functional Skills Maths Levels for higher educational admissions. Each learners learning style will also be assessed using diagnostic testing.
I always try to to adapt the lesson to the student and how they learn, from practice questions, verbal explanations, visual aids etc. Everyone learns in different ways and making sure the students I teach get the most out of the lessons, whilst at the same time motivating and making the learning experience enjoyable is extremely important.
I base classes on different approaches either what the student is struggling with or wants to learn new things aswell as going through what is needed for the exam. There will be a range of techniques used to ensure content is understood. Such a visual stimulation and well as breaking work down into manageable chucks.
I've generally given lessons to students preparing for 11+, English and Maths at primary school level, and Maths at GCSE level. I'm also open to supporting students who study A-Level Maths. My ways of teaching are centred around examples - real life or artificial examples that can help a student understand what I'm teaching.
My method of teaching Mathematics is explaining concepts and topics to students, giving them all the information and techniques they need e.g providing the appropriate formulae or results and, more importantly, giving the students questions to work because practice makes perfect.
My teaching methodology is based on students level.I adjust according to level of students.I do not have a set methodology ,example in Punjabi teaching,it could be roleplay or personal coaching .I am Ok with all types of teaching methods possible.
I’m currently taking my Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Birmingham. I tutor all the students from the first grade to degree levels. The structure of the lesson is very simple. We usually begin with the basic knowledge about the topic because I think once the base is strong nothing can go wrong.
I am an engineering graduate with a masters degree in business and management (finance specialised). Mathematics is my core subject and i have always been good at teaching it. I have a very good base in mathematics and have good scores as well. I always try to help students get a good base of this subject.
I like to design my lessons to be tailored for what the student needs. If this is to be with more input from me acting as a teacher would in school then this is okay. On the other hand, if they would like support with something they're working on at the time, I am very versatile and will accommodate for this if it will suit them better.
