THE FIRST LESSON IS FREE! I approach each topic by understanding it first. Maths and chemistry are logical subjects and they are usually hard for students because they don't see the logic. By giving examples and exercises I make sure you will realise how easy are these topics.
Having studied French, Business Studies and Accounting at A level, I am very confident and familiar with the types of questions exam boards ask and the skills required. I also have a strong mathematical background and understand that like languages, it does not always come naturally to everyone and sometimes requires a different method or explanation.
After leaving industry to retrain as a teacher, I have developed wide experience of mathematical private tuition assignments. I can prepare students for particular examinations, or the skills they need for the classroom or workplace.
My approach to teaching is based around remaining patient and ensuring that the student feels comfortable during lessons. The main problems I hear time and time again from students, with regard to their classes in school, is that the lessons move too quickly and that they don't feel comfortable enough to ask for help when they have a problem.
I provide 1 to 1 and group tuition to all subjects at GCSE and A level. To make sure students are happy with my teaching I provide a free 1hr trial. I prepare notes, worksheets and mark questions outside lesson to make sure that the 1hr is 100% utilised in teaching.
I approach my lessons by understanding the students learning style and their strengths and weaknesses. Then tailor my lessons from this understanding. Starting with the basics and increasing in complexity as the student understands more. I try to approach topics from multiple angles to ensure the successful understanding of the material. My grades: A-level Psychology A, Biology B, Chemistry B.
I like to work through the methods and techniques I use with the students and help them make useful and concise notes. I then like my students to complete practice questions so that they can become confident with the methods we have used and work through any mistakes or problems that they encounter.
My aim is to prepare interactive lessons to help engage students. Using the right specification, I will explore each topic, ensuring that the student has a thorough understanding before progressing. One of the things that worked quite well for me when I was doing my GCSE and A-level exams was going through past papers and I plan to incorporate this into my lessons as well.
Teaching is very personal - everyone learns in a slightly different way and I think it's my job to adapt to whatever works best for you. Often it's just a few key ideas and concepts which need emphasising or presenting in a different way before all those tricky problems you struggled with seem trivial.
Firstly I provide my students with basic mathematics regardless of their grades. I feel many students feel shy to ask questions when they are confused on fundamental topics. I teach chapter wise emphasising on the weak spots of individual students. I have experience teaching students from class 3 to A levels.
I am able to teach up to A Level mathematics (not including Further). I like to get to know where the student is struggling (usually with a small test of some sort) and then start by improving on these parts, then working my way through the syllabus after this.
I have taught in schools across the UK for 4 years plus, and recently started working in a school full time for a Maths GCSE role. Furthermore, I have been doing private tuition for 4 years in London and have created good relationships for which i still do online sessions on the skype or facetime video chat.
As a former student of a grammar school achieving A Levels in Mathematics, English Literature and Spanish (2012); a recent graduate with a degree in International Business and Spanish including a year in Mexico City (2016), and working with students in excess of 5 years, I'm a Transformational Tutor.
My teaching method varies depends on the student. If you're someone who visualizes better then I'll use cards with different pictures in order for you to understand whereas if you learn by listening I'll use different methods so you can absorb the knowledge.
At the beginning of the lesson, we will recap over the last session's lesson and we will go over any homework sheets that I had set. We will work through questions that the student found difficult and I will provide some similar questions to use as warm-up exercises. After having done this, I will teach the student based on the relevant specification that the student is using in school.
The method used much time with kids and high school scholars. It is based on an interactive both theoretical and practical approach which student needs are central. Supportive, positive and at disposal for any question.
My teaching method is progressive development of the student. I'm giving highest priority to find the level of understanding of the student in a particular subject, then find the defects in basics, then mentor the correct knowledge about that particular subject.
Each class is tailored to the student.
Both traditional and modern style methods used depending on what you prefer. A combination of both is preferred to maximise learning and enhancement of subject field. So traditional style consists of: Rigorous notes/calculations on pen and paper. Board Application of books.
I have based my mentoring tailored to the individual, building up the sufficient background knowledge of specific topics in order to make the approach to questions less daunting. I emphasise on developing problem solving ability that applies to all questions.
I have given tuition for children between 8-15 years. I usually start each lesson by reviewing the homework given. Then, I will proceed to teach a new topic where I will explain the topic and show some problem solving examples. I will also allow the student to have some practice under my guidance. I will teach students methods of studying and memorizing.
I give lessons to primary, high school and university level. I use both Teacher-Centered Approach to Learning and Student-Centered Approach to Learning as effective ways of instruction.
I specialise in building subject knowledge and exam confidence to allow pupils to realise their full potential in maths. I like initially to take a targeted approach identify the topics, which offer the biggest gain for each pupil, before really bolstering their confidence through exam strategy and techniques.
