I strive hard to make learning meaningful, and applicable to daily life helping students to understand why Maths is such an important subject for overall life opportunities. My teaching style is structured around firstly identifying current understanding, gaps in knowledge, and then tackling identified issues in a tailored way.
I am a dedicated private tutor who believes that every pupil has the opportunity to succeed and excel beyond their personal goals. My job is to enhance the pupils' knowledge and ensure that the pupil is equipped with the correct tools to succeed.
I personalise my teaching methods to my students, making them achieve the best of their potential. I'm very patient and passionate about the subjects I teach. I have very structured lessons, with regular assessment for learning and constructive feedback.
After leaving industry to retrain as a teacher, I have developed wide experience of mathematical private tuition assignments. I can prepare students for particular examinations, or the skills they need for the classroom or workplace.
My approach to teaching is based around remaining patient and ensuring that the student feels comfortable during lessons. The main problems I hear time and time again from students, with regard to their classes in school, is that the lessons move too quickly and that they don't feel comfortable enough to ask for help when they have a problem.
I am a qualified and science teacher. I have graduated with 2:1 then completed Secondary science PGCE and have gained QTS. I have extensive experience in the classroom, small groups and 1:1 tutoring across KS3 to A level. I am familiar with the new OCR, AQA and EDEXEL curriculum. I am very patient, friendly and approachable which would make pupils be at ease.
I graduated from The University of Birmingham and obtained a PhD degree. I love teaching children Maths (up to GCSE level) and tutoring for 11+ test and am committed to excellence and determined to make an impact in the life of all my students.
I work by the book but realise that everyone has a preferred learning style which I am happy to adapt to. I am patient and detailed in explaining problems and how to get all of the information from the questions in order to get the most marks. In the first lesson, I would either go through any immediate areas of worry or create a long-term plan for how to improve in the whole curriculum.
I provide 1 to 1 and group tuition to all subjects at GCSE and A level. To make sure students are happy with my teaching I provide a free 1hr trial. I prepare notes, worksheets and mark questions outside lesson to make sure that the 1hr is 100% utilised in teaching.
By creating a fun and structured approach to learning, I build up a strong rapport with my students. This relaxed environment allows skills and talents to flourish, leading to many students achieving higher grades than expected. I also help students to prepare for important exams (11 plus, GCSE) by discussing and practising past papers.
In the past, I have tutored pupils in 2 ways: by helping them understand concepts they were struggling with in school, and guiding them through questions (often written by myself) until they did not need any help to complete the questions; and I have also taught completely new topics from scratch, in a case where a pupil was taking a higher level examination than his classmates.
I like to work through the methods and techniques I use with the students and help them make useful and concise notes. I then like my students to complete practice questions so that they can become confident with the methods we have used and work through any mistakes or problems that they encounter.
My aim is to prepare interactive lessons to help engage students. Using the right specification, I will explore each topic, ensuring that the student has a thorough understanding before progressing. One of the things that worked quite well for me when I was doing my GCSE and A-level exams was going through past papers and I plan to incorporate this into my lessons as well.
Teaching is very personal - everyone learns in a slightly different way and I think it's my job to adapt to whatever works best for you. Often it's just a few key ideas and concepts which need emphasising or presenting in a different way before all those tricky problems you struggled with seem trivial.
I have just finished my A levels in Math, Physics and Computing. As a part of my school's initiative to improve my University Application, I was offered the chance to help a class with Math and I took this opportunity. I was assigned with a Year 10 class who were doing foundation Math. I helped them by leading them towards the answer, but they ultimately got the answer by themselves.
Firstly I provide my students with basic mathematics regardless of their grades. I feel many students feel shy to ask questions when they are confused on fundamental topics. I teach chapter wise emphasising on the weak spots of individual students. I have experience teaching students from class 3 to A levels.
I am able to teach up to A Level mathematics (not including Further). I like to get to know where the student is struggling (usually with a small test of some sort) and then start by improving on these parts, then working my way through the syllabus after this.
I have taught in schools across the UK for 4 years plus, and recently started working in a school full time for a Maths GCSE role. Furthermore, I have been doing private tuition for 4 years in London and have created good relationships for which i still do online sessions on the skype or facetime video chat.
I work on a "find fault and fix" methodology after the learner has completed an Initial and diagnostic assessment. I work with individual learners at their pace, seeking to overcome their "obstacles" to understanding and mastery of mathematics. The learner is at the centre of my approach to teaching/tutoring.
As a former student of a grammar school achieving A Levels in Mathematics, English Literature and Spanish (2012); a recent graduate with a degree in International Business and Spanish including a year in Mexico City (2016), and working with students in excess of 5 years, I'm a Transformational Tutor.

Then, I will proceed to teach a new topic where I will explain the topic and show some problem solving examples. I will also allow the student to have some practice under my guidance. I will teach students methods of studying and memorizing.
