I like to first understand why the student and parent are in need of a tutor. From this I like to find the best teaching style to go with that is best suited. I will then create a plan until the exams of what needs to be covered. Things such as past papers, exam solutions and lessons for each topic will be created and organised for the student and provided to the student when they are ready.
I will give lessons to all students up to the standard of GCSE. I am very patient and willing to explain concepts in different ways. I like to over questions together including past papers to improve exam technique. I am very willing to mark questions too in my free time.
Personally, I don't like the standard way of getting taught. Sitting in a class room with x amount of others.
Originally a student at the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Penrith, I am now studying my undergraduate degree in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. Hi guys! My name is Emma and I am offering tutoring to GCSE students looking to get the grades that will open many future opportunities. Maths can be sometimes a little boring and can cause you to lose focus and zone out, but I'm here to make it fun believe it or not and help you understand anything you are having trouble with.
My teaching method is to go through exam questions and help the student tackle questions. Moreover give tips and tricks into achieveing full potential and getting those high grades. I believe in learning something with all the senses, this means seeing it visually and hearing it. This means it is retained better. Furthermore i think practise makes all the difference too.
I will give lessons to anyone doing GCSE/A-level maths or physics. Typically the lesson will be problem focused, they will tackle problems, with some small guidance from me- this will give students confidence in their own ability as they achieve progress themselves.
Firstly I would give the student some time to attempt the problem. If stuck, I would offer a hint and let them get back to it. If they can’t make any more progress I will try and go through the solution slowly. If they bring in any problems that they are already stuck on I will go straight to the solutions.
I base my teaching methods upon my notes from the previous year, and I go in depth with the student, ensuring they completely understand the topic they are studying, and can apply it in multiple situations. This is an effective method, because the student is being taught from an successful, experienced student that sat the first year of the new 9-1 GCSES.
I have GCSEs in 12 subjects as well as experience in tutoring and mentoring younger people in revising and reading. I am a Physics student looking to tutor students at GCSE and below to help you reach your full potential.
Any level of teaching up to degree can be achieved. The lesson structure is open can work through problems you have or go through topics you would like to learn more about and get a greater understanding of.
My teaching methodology is to give my students a thorough demenstartion and practice along with explanation and assistance when needed.

I am a very cheerful and positive person with a passion for motivating people to achieve their dreams.
I usually let the students define the subject of each session, answering questions then further discussing the topics that cause confusion with exam style questions. I also find discussing the topics beyond the exam specification can be enjoyable and beneficial too.
