I see each complex section in science and mathematics as a composition of relatively simple questions whose solutions often involve the application of rudimentary mathematical and scientific axioms. As such, I seek to impress upon my students the importance of decomposing problems by rewriting the questions posed in a generally longer but more comprehensible form.
I have a very flexible teaching methodology depending on my student's level. In order to do this I use a wide range of techniques including; step by step guides, illustrated explanations and quick tips/hints. I also like to use practice tests to make the student more confident with their exams along with encouraging my students to ask more questions.
I believe students need to be enjoying studying to be productive. I try to connect with students on a personal level by appearing more like a friend than an authority figure. Students will still understand the need to learn but my lessons/revision sessions will be much more informal than a lesson at school.
Practise is the best way to learn maths so when teaching it, I begin by explaining a new concept to the student, then going through a few problems with them, then letting them go through some problems alone to highlight any problems so I can then explain and fix the problem.
I tend to vary my teaching method depending on the needs and learning style of the student. I like to teach by a direct approach, encouraging the use of past papers to perfect exam technique and practice. I also tailor my teaching to follow the exact syllabus taught to the student, to ensure their exact learning needs are met.
I like to base my teaching on the style the learner finds best. We initially agree on the way the learner wants to progress in the subject - which topics to cover first, what kind of resources to use (so for a visual leaner I would use a number of diagrams and images to explain any processes/concepts) and the length of time they would like to spend on each area.
My teaching method is based on the student(s) and how they and I feel will be the most suitable and effect way of learning whether it be one to one or group mentoring for example and whichever way creates a comfortable environment for the student to learn in.
I have experience of teaching university students during my degree and believe I have a friendly and effective approach to learning. I prefer a more relaxed style because I feel the most successful learning occurs when students are engaged and feel comfortable asking questions. However, I am very flexible and can also accommodate for students that would like a more formal, classroom-style approach.
I recently completed my masters which means I was a student not so long ago. My teaching method is structured around this fact. I believe that subjects like Math and Physics are understood best with practical examples, so I always tutor with a lot of those. I like to ensure my students have a solid foundation on the basics by reviewing key foundation concepts as well.
I am a physics and mathematics graduate with experience tutoring primary and secondary students.
I have a natural talent for numeracy, and systems thinking. I have been an IT and engineering professional for the past 12 years. I enjoy teaching aspiring students and helping them cultivate and recognise their own innate gifts. I pride myself in being able to listen, truly listen, before setting those that I tutor on a path of self discovery.

Teaching mathematics and the core sciences to GCSE level has given me vast knowledge and experience in delivering lessons in the most effective way. This has enabled me to greatly develop my teaching methods so that complex ideas can be simplified and taught to the student, thus making the learning more easier and enjoyable.
Usually i like to help students understand certain subjects or certain things in a certain subject by moulding around them and try to see what they understand and what they need help on. I like to hint the answer to the students, rather than giving them the answer and slowly building up that students knowledge.
I prefer to connect with student on their level so that they are comfortable and put their trust in me to guide them into becoming their best selves. I will do a lot of pre planned lessons once I evaluate their position and keep efficient progress reports.
My teaching method is to work through example questions with the student then allow a chance for the individual to attempt a question alone.
I have been tutoring for 8 years now to countless kids at all levels of education. I've learned to adapt my method of teaching to suit each student personally and achieve the desired grade or higher and in many cases have succeeded.
I have tutored various levels Primary, preparatory and secondary school student, specifically 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th 9th graders in the subjects of Maths and English Language; also, I tutored A-Level equivalent Maths and Physics. Most of the time I tend to convert my session into an interactive debate to understand what my students already know and what they lack.
I approach each pupil dependant upon their needs, build on concepts that they are familiar with and use methods that are best for each student. For example some pupils might prefer visual aids whereas others may prefer descriptive examples. Everyone is unique and everyone learns their own way, I will attempt to find what that is and nurture it to the best of their ability.
My teaching methods is based on appropriate assessment, in order to tailor make a plan for each student. I strongly believe in scaffolding learning by breaking down information into easy bite size pieces. For students who are of high ability I achieve results by challenging them and pushing them to their highest abilities.
I am a PhD student at the University of Leeds. I have an in depth knowledge of science and maths related subjects and I am confident teaching these from primary to high school education level. My lessons are tailored to the requirements and education level of my student. After first meeting or speaking I am able to form a lesson structure which will meet the student's needs.
I'm an undergraduate at Christ's College, Cambridge, reading Natural Sciences, specialising in Chemistry and Materials Science (currently achieving Class I). I normally teach by using worked problems to highlight gaps in understanding, but will vary lesson structure according to the needs of the student.
I can help you with any questions you have about the course or past papers, and suggest questions for you to do if you can't find enough.
I tailor each lesson to each individual, to cater for their needs. I help install an understanding of the subject within the student and carefully plan each lesson to ensure the student is receiving the most support as possible. I am a friendly, dedicated individual.
I make an effort to make my class geared towards the individual, in order to best meet your needs and help you best. I am comfortable in teaching individuals of all ages, as I have had experience teaching kids as young as 6 and beyond. I am patient and willing to listen to you. I aim to provide a comfortable learning experience for students to be themselves so that they can benefit as much as possible from our lessons having the confidence to ask questions and deeper their understanding. During my lessons I will follow the specification that is relevant to the student.
Socratic which is based on probing the student in discovering. As a teacher I do set the scene for students to find best methods for them to learn in different ways and the discoveries will motivate them to learn more.
I have no set method of teaching as I realise all pupils are unique and as such have differing needs and must be challenged in different ways. We will discuss what works best for you as an individual and using the information you provide we will create a learning environment which suits you.
