My teaching style is relaxed but with clear goals and structure where needed, to motivate students to achieve their best possible results. I am a friendly, relaxed and competent person and try to lift my students up in terms of both skill and confidence.
Our lessons incorporate demonstration and opportunities to practise techniques. We believe strongly in mastering the foundamentals of sewing and insist on accuracy before speed. Lessons are delivered one to one or in groups with peer support to assist learning and build rapport. Our style is to teach whats relevant so that objectives are achieved from the first lesson.
I specialise in treating all learners as designers and creatives from the word go and teach them the skills they need to survive & thrive at university.
I focus mainly on the students weaknesses and then the engineer the classes on strengthening those weaknesses by having continuous critiques and practise sessions. I offer two rates Those who need advice on fashion portfolios for employment or university the rate is £30.
I use an intuitive approach when it comes to teaching. I like to first assess what it is the student is looking to achieve, and then set out objectives. My teaching style is a combination hands-on, practical skills and theoretical concepts.
My teaching method is to make learning fun and make the impossible possible! I believe that with help always on hand you push yourself to do the unexpected and make unusual decisions as you know mistakes can be corrected with my help.
My teaching method is step by step tutorial with attention to detail on easy to follow techniques of specific part of the garment construction(ex. Pockets, collars, waisbands). Classes are 3 hours long with maximum of 5 students, or weekends Masterclasses 12h long with maximum of 10 students. Sewing machines and materials are provided.
Depending on the level of experience of student lessons can start with a main basic theory of sewing (how to thread and use a sewing machine, basic seams and finishes) following with theory of how pattern work and how they are used to create 3-dimensional garments out of 2-dimensional materials such as fabric.
I offer individual lessons to provide basic understanding of knitting and other needlework techniques and build a unique plan for each student to enable the recipe for something inspired by the student themselves and creating something they will treasure.
My method of teaching is to inspire , motivate and encourage each individual. Years of experience in the industry and within education, ensure effective teaching with an emphasis on the inclusitivity of the teaching styles that are adopted on all the programs. I offer one to one and comprehensive group project-based courses for all levels, students and professionals.
I provide examples of re-purposed items followed by simple exercises to open up your thinking of possibilities for uses of used clothing and textiles before considering your own items in the same way. Alongside this you will be coached on your lifestyle as it is, how you would like it to be and how to develop the attitudes, attributes and approaches needed to move in the direction you most desire.
My lessons are fun and are suitable for anyone. Lessons are planned around the student and are very hands on.
I am a methodical and meticulous tutor. My lessons cater for the clients' needs- from the very basic and starting out to the nitty gritty and more advanced detail and skill of sewing. For each lesson a tailored list will be sent in advance for what will be needed to get started.
I teach students by "see and do" they watch me demonstrate, then I provide them with feedback after they have had a go. i provide them with opportunities to ask any questions as we go along, no question is too small.
My method of teaching sewing is to learn about the basics first, learn how to operate the machine, practice basic stitches to start with, follow and understand the markings of a commercial pattern, i.e. seams, hems and finally machine into place. If making soft furnishings, e.g. curtains we measure and make up to desired width and drop.
My teaching style is encouraging and I can help you to develop your skills. I offer One to One lessons and small group (maximum 6 students) lessons/workshops. I base my One to One lesson on the individual student and what they fell they need help with. The small group workshops have a lesson plan, which states the Aims and Outcome of the workshop.
I tailor my teaching approach according to the students aspirations and needs and can cater for different levels of ability within a group. Lessons can contain some presentation and demonstration by myself but mostly students learn through guided practical work of their own choosing or as suggested by myself.
My teaching method = listening to what you'd like to learn, discussing how we can go about achieving that and then setting about a plan of action. Once we've got that, we'll go through at your pace and I'll explain everything as we go. I'd want you to ask away, be enquiring and curious. I'll help you and be your guide.
I will go through each step slowly making sure that you are at the same pace and cater the lesson based on your skill set. I am very friendly and easy going.
I will offer hour webcam lessons in an area of your choice, whether you're wanting to learn the basics of machinery, or want some help with your latest project including tailoring.
