About Tomomi

Ohakonbanchiwa! (A cheerful blend of ohayō, konnichiwa, and konbanwa—not official, but a fun and nostalgic way to say hello!)

I am Tomomi, a native Japanese speaker with a deep passion for language learning and teaching.
I’ve personally studied English, Chinese, German, Dutch, and am learning Italian. So I truly understand how challenging—and sometimes frustrating—it can be to master a new language. But I also know the immense joy and personal growth it brings.
This experience allows me to support my students with empathy, patience, big passion and motivation.

I’ve lived and worked internationally and previously ran my own English school for children. There, I developed lively, creative, and effective teaching methods that not only helped kids learn but also nurtured their personalities.
I now bring that same originality and enthusiasm to my Japanese lessons—with the goal of helping students not only improve their language skills, but also learn with joy and confidence.

About the lesson

My lessons are fully personalized to suit your goals, pace, and personality. Language is not just a tool for communication—it’s a gateway to personal development, deeper self-expression, and cultural connection. That’s why I design each session to be fun, motivating, and enriching—whether you're just starting out or looking to take your Japanese to the next level. >>Focus on everyday language and real-life communication. Japanese often communicates meaning subtly—through non-verbal cues and what’s said between the lines. Let’s explore not just the words, but the deeper layers of Japanese expression. >>Lessons for beginners and intermediate learners. If you're advanced, let’s have a chat first to see how I can support your continued growth effectively. >>Let’s shape our lessons around your needs—whether it’s preparing for travel, making a great impression in business settings, or simply enjoying the beauty of the language. After a trial class, I’ll create a personalized learning plan tailored to your goals. We’ll adjust it together to make sure it works perfectly for you. I promise lessons that are playful, yet effective. With my Japanese roots and international experience, I’ll help you enjoy your language journey with cultural depth and personal insight.

Tomomi's response
Yes, Kaitlin-san, あなたはにほんごがだいすきですね！わたしたちは、ピザもだいすきですね！
Kaitlin absorbs everything so quickly that I always end up going overtime because I want to introduce her to anything I think would be useful for her. We enjoy learning together very much. I’m really looking forward to the day when she can use Japanese smoothly and confidently. And the day is close. I can already sense it in the air ......
