About Zahra

Hi! I'm a friendly and patient Chemistry tutor offering support to students studying AQA GCSE Chemistry, including Combined Science and Separate Chemistry.

Having achieved Grade 8 in GCSE Chemistry and currently studying A-level Chemistry, I have a strong foundation in the subject and a deeper understanding of the concepts students encounter as they progress through their studies. I have also achieved A/A* grades in my A-level Chemistry class assessments, reflecting my understanding of the subject and my commitment to academic progress.

Through my tutoring experience, I've learnt the importance of adapting explanations to suit each student's individual needs and learning style. I aim to make Chemistry feel less overwhelming by breaking down difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps and explaining the reasoning behind each process, rather than relying on memorisation alone.

I encourage students to ask questions, learn from their mistakes, and build the confidence to tackle unfamiliar problems independently. My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, ability and learning pace. I aim to make Chemistry easier to understand by breaking down difficult concepts into manageable steps and explaining the reasoning behind each process, rather than relying on memorisation alone.

I use clear explanations, worked examples and guided practice to help students develop their understanding. Students are encouraged to attempt questions independently, ask questions whenever they are unsure, and learn from their mistakes. I also incorporate exam-style questions to help students become familiar with the AQA GCSE Chemistry specification, command words and mark schemes.

Typical Lesson Length: Lessons typically last two hours, with the option to arrange longer sessions depending on the student's needs and learning goals.
