The best way to begin teaching is by getting to know what methods suits the students. I break down what needs to be taught into categories, and go through each category as if it is its own subject. The first couple of times I tutor, I will present information in a range of ways and keep note of what methods help advance individual's learning the most.
I am a law Student studying at Queen's University, aspiring to become a solicitor. I worked as a Tutor before moving, overlooking sessions in Maths and English for children aged 3-16 years. I have always enjoyed tutoring and would love to share my knowledge with Belfast!

I am a bubbly, responsible student whose key skills include being an effective communicator, having interpersonal sensitivity, good commercial awareness and having the ability to work independantly and as a team efficiently.
During my time at School, I have been part of many extra curricular activities including young enterprise which concluded with our team reaching the finals. This opportunity devoloped my commercial awareness and teamwork. It also involved a lot of time management and creativity, initiative and analytical skills.
I have also completed the Duke of Endinborough award. DofE involved working as a team to overcome challenges whilst completing a circuit around the countryside over the course of 3 days with little support. Because of this, I have a good talent for knowing when to take risks and when to be a leader or a team player. It also enhanced my ability to communicate with others.
I was a member of the debating society during my time at college and have partaken in many competitions. One of which was The Great Debate, where I was commended by the judges. This introduced me into the world of reasearch, planning and articulation which I have refined, and continue to refine, during my degree.
I achieved Grade A in Maths, English Language and English Literature, as well as my sciences.
I achieved grade A* in Law and Sociology, as well as a grade A in psychology.
I am currently studying Law with Politics at Queen's University Belfast as an aspiring solicitor.
September 2017- June 2018
During my time at college, I opted to take up the role of student ambassador. This involved careful planning of student events such as the careers fairs, being flexible and managing my time well in order to partake in school events, as well as using IT skills and both commercial and social awareness to further public interest with the college. There were also many situations that required good interpersonal skills, including supporting students with their situations where quick decision making was needed to protect the wellbeing of a young person.
June 2017- August 2018
As a tutor working with the company Explore Learning, I managed six children per session, supporting them in Maths and English. Being responsible for the wellbeing of minors, I had to adapt to each situation as they arose, from retaining the enjoyment of different age groups and personality types, to being able to keep attention to detail to ensure their safety. As a tutor, I would often have to think creatively and outside the box, whether to adapt my teaching method or to entertain to sustain motivation.
