About Francesca
I am a humanities student in the final year of study at St. Paul's Girls' School in Hammersmith, currently taking English (Pre U) History (Pre U) Politics (A Level) and Economic (A Level) . I have been predicted A* grades in all. I hope to study English Literature at Cambridge.
I have a genuine interest in my A Level subjects and do extensive wider reading, as well as participating in extracurricular essay prizes. As a tutor, I will apply the same enthusiasm and contientiousness to lessons as I do to my own independent study.
At GCSE I achieved 10A*s in Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics English language, English literature, Latin, French, History and Geography, and an A in Mandarin.

Lessons usually involve analysis of a text together, before planning and structuring an essay or written response. Between sessions I will usually set tasks, such as reading and annotating personalised materials I provide to the student (notes or journal articles on the text) or completing an essay or other written task, which we can discuss in our next session. This method combines elements which support the student and increase their confidence in the subject with independent work which fosters curiosity and interest as well as challenging the student to develop their own ideas and improve the quality of their written communication.
I have previous experience tutoring in GCSE English, increasing one student's grade from a D in his mock to an A in his final exam. Additionally, he was initially unenthusiastic about English and reluctant to express his own ideas, but soon became more confident in the subject, opting to take an English A Level. He has now been accepted to a journalism course at university.
Additionally, I have experience teaching younger children as I volunteered at a local primary school for three months to teach latin to Year 4 students.
