About Joanna
I am a sixth form student studying Maths, Biology and Chemistry, and am applying to study Medicine. I have taught six students over a period of three years, ranging from reception, to SATs, to GCSE level.
As Science Ambassador at Barking Abbey Sixth Form, I have also helped teach children at local primary schools, which has further developed my teaching style and communication skills.
I have played the piano since the age of seven, and taught myself how to play the guitar when I was 14. This has allowed me to play in concerts, local competitions and school events.

In terms of teaching strategy, I start off with a mini test recapping on what we went over in the last lesson. I then base my lessons on the curriculum, especially focusing on any specific lessons the student would like to go through. a mixture of worksheets, videos and text books to fully explain anything the student may be struggling with.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
We booked Joanna because she received excellent grades in her GCSEs, had plenty of experience teaching GCSE subjects and because she described her teaching process quite well in her bio. She was also planning to do a degree course in Medicine, something which my son is considering.
When she started providing English Language & Literature lessons to my son we quickly realised that she was very thorough and quick to gain an understanding of his needs and weaknesses. She prepared homework that was tailored for him. We are confident that her efforts and her approach to teaching will help my son to lift up his grades in the subjects that Joanna is helping him with.
Joanna is friendly and personable and interacts well with my son to stimulate his thinkng and to help him pick up new skills. I would definitely recommend Joanna for any GCSE student wishing to reach the upper GCSE grades.Joanna is teaching piano for my 9yrs old daughter. Here is what my daughter said about her: “I really like her because my fingers are becoming more flexible. I just had 2 lessons with her and already I can play two songs. This is such a remarkable achievement for me. She teaches patiently and in a fun way. 1 hour seems like 10min only. A difficult song became simple to play with her guidance. I really recommed her as a teacher for piano lesson.” :D
Joanna, is a very polite, professional, trustworthy and diligent individual.
She provides piano lesson to my daughters
She is always on time and my duagthers like her very much.
She is good with them and they have learnt a lot from her lessons, as joanne is patient and has a great strategy of teaching.
Highly recommend!Joanna has been teaching my 5 year old daughter how to play the piano for nearly a year now. My daughter has made very good progress during this time and is peparing for her first test. She is very patient and explains the theory very simply so that my daughter can pick up the terminology. Her teaching methods of of balancing theory with playing the piano during the lesson keeps my daughter engaged throughout the lesson. Joanna is someone my daughter looks up to and is inspired to play as well as Joanna, she builds really good relationships with her students. Joanna is exceptionally polite and comes across professional all the time. I would highly recommend Joanna as piano teacher.
