I am a licensed K-8 ELA teacher with the Clark County School District. I have been with the district for 5 years teaching English/Reading at both the Standard and Accelerated levels as well as Art History and Film Studies to students in grades 6-8.

As a teacher, it is my job to ensure that students are developing and mastering the necessary skills they need in order to be successful in the future. These skills include critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills that will help prepare students for college or entry level jobs after they leave school. This is especially important in the academic area of ELA, as students are taught important written and verbal communication skills that they will surely need in order to flourish. My approach to teaching is in line with the standards and expectations of the Common Core, used in nearly all states to help guide student learning. Developed by experts and used nation-wide, the skills identified and taught are invaluable for student success.
