About Guillermo
I am a Chilean high school teacher who moved to Montreal to live with my lovely wife, who was born here. I have studied personally English and French, and I graduated from Universidad de Santiago de Chile, with a diploma in Pedagogy in Castilian Spanish.
I have five years of experience as a high school teacher, being the single Literature teacher for over 300 students at a semi-rural school. I have experience dealing with many kinds of students, from the studious types to those who don't wanna see a book in their entire lives. To all of them, I've taught with the same dedication, because a literate populace is extremely important for a functioning society.
I've also been a tutor for many students who needed help writing their college papers. I am probably MUCH better than ChatGPT or Grammarly at fixing your spelling and grammar mistakes. And I can help you write much more like a human, too. If you need help in writing essays or articles, or you're struggling with proper citations, I'm your guy.

As a high school teacher for five years and personal tutor for a couple more, a regular class will feel just as school, except with all the time in the world to explain every detail, and personalized feedback. I'm comfortable teaching English and Spanish at a middle-school and high-school level, as well as helping on Academic Writing for college students.
If you're into Creative Writing as well, I'm available.
If you're looking for classes in either English or Spanish (as a first language), you can expect active classes, with reading, writing and discussion. I put a lot of emphasis on reading comprehension and literacy, so expect challenging written or oral questionnaires, that make you think on a deeper level on the material.
If you're looking for classes for Spanish as a second language, I am a native speaker and have experience teaching the language, as well as learning English and French.
If you're seeking to learn academic writing, expect for a class where we'll be practicing writing from the get-go. Every session would include at least one writing exercise in the subject needed (essays, articles, reports, etc.)
I am flexible, but I have high standards when it comes to assignments. I have a clinical eye for grammar, orthography and academic structure. I'll be able to tell your mistakes better than any LLM or text editing software you can find online.
